Who cares? The majority of players who post feedback on that site are baseliners who whine about net campers so of course the majority of feedback will be about net play.

I posted around 35% of the feedback on that site. Are you calling me a whiny baseliner?
Maybe you like playing matches where all you do is camp at the T and hit nothing but drops and lobs, but some of us don't - hence the purpose of the site.

Yeah, you definitely fit the description of whiny.
I like playing all matches whether it be baseline or at the net and I dont sulk when someone plays to their strengths and not to mine.

If Dan is whiny then you'd fit the bill for self-righteous-elitist-egotistical-teenager. 15-17 I'd guess. I'm guessing your response to my post will include some calling me "kid" or some form of derogatory subject changing garbage.
As far as your argument goes, in case you haven't noticed, this community IS basically formed by baseliners. So maybe you just are a little slow. Anyways, we don't really have anything to prove to you, you're obviously the minority here, and don't seem very well liked so I'm sure things will sort themselves out

By definition he fits the label whiny, sorry if that upsets you. He complains about people who play at the net, that is called whining. (look up the definition if you'd like)
Last I checked this community is Grand Slam Tennis players, there is no subset of 'baseliners' and 'non-baseliners' we are all playing the same game.
P.S. Sorry to disappoint you but I have no need to resort to insults and enter a ridiculous argument of how old someone is(unfortunately the same cant be said for you).

Inb4hypocrite -_-
No need to resort to insults and yet you're so quick to label people. And yes, the majority of us that post on THIS forum (might want to pay attention....) are baseliners. We PM each other and play together for the sole reason that playing anti-tennis people online is NOT fun. Its boring and tedious and repetitive. Not what most of us who bought this TENNIS game had in mind. Its really not a hard concept, at least not in theory....../shrug

If posting a factual description of someone's playing style is whiny, then I guess I'm whiny.
I don't sulk after playing T-campers/drop shot spammers/etc, since I rarely lose to these types of players. I do, however, lament the fact that this game allows people to be moderately successful using tactics that you will NEVER see on a real tennis court.
If you have no problem with it, then good for you. Have fun playing your little 'ping pong' matches or whatever you want to call it. But don't criticize baseliners or anyone who prefers playing a more "realistic" style of tennis.
P.S. I will be happy to play you anytime and then we'll see who's sulking afterwards

Considering the MAJORITY of posts on this forum is simply people complaining Im not surprised at all.

So.....you bolded the sentence ONE sentence before the one you apparently failed to read. See, rather than posting our plans to play for any idiot (like yourself) to read about, we do it in PMs. So for people like you (who none of us care to play or have anything to do with) I suppose that would seem unclear at first glance. I guess if I was butthurt about nobody wanting to be my friend on an online forum I'd be making posts like yours too.

Im simply here to discuss the game, I saw someone complaining about net players and I chimed in on why so many of the 'reviews' are about net players.
As for the net play I believe it is simply part of the game and I dont understand all the whining about it, especially if you have a group of 'friends' to play with who play your way. I personally play both ways, net and baseline depending on what I perceive my opponents weakness is, but if I see he cant play at the net Im not gonna back off so he can hang on the baseline with his wicked forehands Im gonna try to lead him out of his comfort zone.
In the End this is a game this isnt the real tennis court.
P.S. Lets try to hold off on the petty insults for at least one post.

Well, buried somewhere on the forum is someone else's (I don't recall who's offhand) detailed explanation as to why this game meshes better with volleying than staying at the baseline. It basically boils down to the player size to tennis court ratio being inaccurate (rather than a service box measuring 9-10' [example, idk offhand if these #s are RL accurate] irl and a player being 5'8-6'2, in GST it would look more like box = 6-7' and same player size). The player movement to ball speed ratio is also pretty awful.
Its not so much us "whining" as you put it, as us disliking these flawed aspects in the game's design resulting in baseliners being the minority as opposed to RL.

Actually, the majority of feedback is about T campers. If you played more than a few games online you would have noticed that about 75% of online players play that style, so there is bound to be more feedback on that.

Hello there!
First of all i 'd like to apologize for my english, it's not so good.
Now, I don't understand this thing about net players. I'm a baseliner (usually play with Borg) and I can beat 8 out of 10 net players. I don't imply that I'm a good player (around 500 in the rank), but if you understand their game it's easy to beat them. After all it's a kind of play and for me it's a challenge trying to beat them.
I even try once to play with Sampras but I think it' a boring style of play. I can't blame though the guys that play like this.
