Hi guys,
So it seems there is some consensus out there that we need to take league play into our own hands due to the inability of EA Sports to handle the issues on their own. This seems to hold true with most EA Sports games, as they are the most popular sports brand, they always suffer miserably with cheaters and punks online ruining the game for the masses.
Our main rule:
- Stock 6-axis Xbox Controllers ONLY (no modded controllers)
If anyone is interested in joining such a league, I'd be more than happy to create and host it.
Reply below with your console and gamertag if you're interested!

Need to clarify this thread - invitations are for 6 Axis and XBox stock controller players.

Good idea. I'll point that out.

How can you make sure no "moded" controller will be allowed in? Is there some way you can tell who has one?

There isn't a way to ensure - I'm guessing that it would be a group of people who want to play against each other using stock controllers with a gentlemans' agreement to use only a stock controller.

That is a slippery slope to proceed on.
I belong to a site that forbids the use of third party controllers as one of their rules.
Over a period of time it has led to some hard feelings.People have accused others of using one because they couldn't shoot the same scores. It sometimes is a real mess.
Just be prepared for the occasional spat over who's using one and who's not.

I agree - I think one has to get to know people really well before it would work - real shame.

I may be intrested in playing but before signing up, would like to know the league outline.
I only ever use a stock controller, never owuld I buy an turbo pad, even if they were easy to obtain for xbox....
Agree that you need to get to know people to have a sense of their "honour" but I also agree with SSenator that accusations can fly REALLY easy, just have to read some of the posts on these forums.
Anyway, assuming I do sign up:
XBOX tag. ukjonas.

I think it's a real shame that there isn't an option to play cross platform because i would play you happily. I'm PS3. I do think there are a huge amount of players who would love to play people using the same equipment. There just isn't anyway of telling when playing P2P until after the online game starts and you see their drive sail 50yrds past you. I guess the only way is to build up a network of friends that are like minded and only play them. What is woeful is that playing online tournaments is practically pointless. I really do think that 3rd party controllers take away all the best aspects of the game.

I play Tiger Woods 10 on the Wii gaming system, I have played for a couple years now. Due to all the frustrations with cheaters & quitters it is difficult to enjoy this game as it should be
We have actually solved this problem for the Wii console by forming our own League. We have a regular season that is 6 weeks long, AM & Pro divisions. We then have a match-play style play-offs to determine season champions. We also have several member created tourneys that are also quite fun
I decided to search around a bit to see what is happening for the other gaming platforms and found this forum. I am disappointed to see this great idea for your League to drop out and fizzle away
Our League is called the 'WiiGA Tiger Woods Golf League'. We have our League based on proboards.com and it is a free site for this sort of thing. The best feature of the proboards site is the chat room, we have a chat room to coordinate our matches as well as discuss our matches or just sit around and BS a bit.
You can check out most of our site without even joining our League. If any of you are serious about this, come take a look at how we did it.
Here is our link . . .
http://wiigatour.proboards.com./index.cgi
Take a look, get some ideas, then set one up, we have over 270 members and growing every day

I definately agree. Alot of the good players can shoot well with or without a 3rd party controller.
