Hello,
Real frustrated here. I just loaded Win 7, brand new hard drive.
Did the latest Win updates. Loaded BF2142 and trying to load the latest updates and Win 7 comes up with
"you already have the latest updates."
Then, it just shuts down the load process.
Does not allow you to load the latest version of the game.
Help......

I've had the same problem. BF 2142 wouldn't even install on my Win7. Problem is, I can't find any support for this problem. EA doesn't have any answers (hopefully, in the future a Win7 patch may be available) and it's nearly impossible to contact Microsofts customer support.
I'm going to fragment a small portion of my hard drive and install win XP on it.

Just turn off the auto-update feature of Win 7. It's a pain as it will always look for newer drivers or updtaes even if you don't want them.

Another things is that, Win7 is practically a redo of Vista. (A much better version if i may so so). You might have to run bf242 in Admin mode and also change the target to "widescreen +1".
