The REPLAY function after race is something that I've been searching in every new game of the Underground series (Underground,Underground 2,Most Wanted,Carbon,Undercover). I found it only in Underground 2,and this made me very happy. Unfortunately it was only Underground 2 that had this amazing feature.

Since this feature wasn't in MW nor Carbon,I'm concerned that we won't see it in World Online either.

Its something that brings pure pleasure in the player. A sight where the player is an artist who's witnessing his own art of driving, his style. No replay means no paint for the picture - only a gray, lifeless sketch. I've had very exciting, perfect races - when there was a replay function,I could see my car next to my opponent's car, flying through the corners without touching, flames going out of the exhaust on the straight lines...priceless moments. But these moments are lost forever when the race ends, because you can't replay the race and see yourself from a cinematic point of view.
In one sentence - The replay shows the art of driving, its an inspiration for the driver,an experience which cannot be described with words.
I can't understand the developers...they're making wonderful car models, detailed car customization, rich, breathing world and all you see 93 PERCENT of the game time is the back of the car, flying through the scenery. What, you're making a whole world only to be seen from the back of the car?! Doesn't make sense to me. I drooled on the boss cutscenes, which really made me jealous for not having the opportunity to make my own ;/ . The jumps ,even police encounter cutscenes showed the world from another angle.
One reasons that makes people want a Underground 2 remake,is the replay function. In fact, people want Bayview because they've seen its full beauty through the replays. One of the reasons that Most Wanted made 16 million copies was that in most of the trailers, the cars and the world were shown from a cinematic angle - like the replays. I was sure that I was going to see a replay function in MW..even more - not only a race replay but even a police chase replay! Unfortunately,I didn't...

Oh..and one more thing!
Why should I spend money for visual upgrades ,when I can see everything only in car select mode? Why should I spend hours on visual customizing my car when in-game I only see its rear? Think about it.

The replay has a key role for the success of NFS World Online.

People will not only be able to have a better view of the world and their car, they'll be able to create things like machinima, show off in YouTube ( yeah, guess what my future videos will be ) and so on.

I'd like to throw few ideas here:

Police Chase replay - Why not? Its cool to see how you get through police barrier like in a Hollywood movie.
Replay Director - A detailed replay editor where you can put camera sequences (fore example from 1:45 to 2:00 - front wheel camera, from 2:00 to 2:06 - fly camera + 2x Slow-motion) and other fancy stuff ;] ("like render the replay as:"function).
The replay director can be a good pay-to-use function by the way ;]

And some good replays to watch at:

Some masterful driving in NFS U2

Here's something else I found from the same user

People were so desperate that they even made a camhack xD

Although I kinda doubt that they will include a built-in movie editor, I have to say that this is an excellent idea.

Of course, this feature is more iconic in games like Gran Tourismo, which is probably why NFS didn't feel it was necessary. BUT GT DOESN'T HAVE CAR ART! All you see there are the machines themselves, maybe with different colors or basic decal sets, but no capability of actually making a car. That is why this is an excellent idea in NFS, where you can do those things.

I can also definitely remember those days of MW and cop chases (somehow, they seemed so much more fun in MW than Carbon). Man, I can remember some ridiculous chases I got into... it would be awesome to be able to record that.

Two thumbs way up for this idea.

i like the idea of the movie editor... though i really dunno how a replay function would work in an MMO...

if they manage to add replay function i just hope you can save the replays as files so i can view it later... (or use it in the movie editor if that happens)

the photo mode should be implemented as well although it should work inside the replay function since its impossible to take a pic while racing live

I will agree with you on the replay in games, it is a most valued feature and that's what gives codemasters racing games such added value.

When it comes to visual customizations, just because you don't see the value in them does not mean those of us who do should not even have them as an option. Think about it...

Other than the fact that MW was well thought out and well implemented, the iconic scenery was a major role in the sell also. IMO

Its a bit pointless to have a whole look at your car only in the showroom. The lack of replay function in the previous NFS titles really discouraged me to visually customize my car.

In an MMO, other people will be seeing your car frequently anyway so I wouldn't worry too much!

Im not sure really where I stand on replays however. Being the feature creature that I am, I inherently want them but I think Ive only ever used them once in a game and that was to create a remix video. I dont think I'd miss it if it was left out from WO but admittedly I think if it was included I would use it to create youtube videos.

That's exactly why EA dropped the reply in NFSs because someone thought it was as pointless as you think visual customizations are.

Well some would say the same thing about those who think visual customizations are pointless. You are not a stupid person, are you?....

Hes not saying you said that, hes just remarking that some other people think that but it doesn't make you a stupid person because of their opinions.
