Need for Speed Racing Games

My save game file is corrupt. When I load my game I have the options to start career, options or quit. The last car I drove is in the background. This is the third time this has happend. All three times ithas happened just after unlocking tier 4. This is not a hardware, software, or any other problem with my system. This is not the first time you have been alerted to this issue. I know, by reading the forums that I am not the only person having this problem. I also know that this is happening across all platforms; pc, xbox360, and ps3. I also know that this is not the only need for speed game that is affected. Erasing and starting over again is not an option, I have too many hours wasted thus far for that. It appears that even though I paid a premium price for this game, I am not being allowed full use of it. Immediate attention is reguired.

Thats what I emailed to EA support. If I were a lawyer, I'd swear that I smell a lawsuit. But i'm not a lawyer so I guess thats just bacon that I smell.

These have been reported numerous times and they have fixed it but haven't released the patch yet AFAIK

I've been reading through the forums, and I can't find a single instance where EA have actualy adressed a single issue. Should I just forget about getting any use out of this game? I need a new coaster but $50 is a bit expensive. I guess EA have laid off all of their customer support staff, along with their developers. You know, with the bad economy and all.

I have to agree I heard reports about this last year

EDIT: They have addressed this as "menu bug fixed" or something like that. It's in the patch list on the shift discussion forums

Arrrggggg!!!!! It happened again! MODERATORS please sticky this thread or one of the countless others like it, and let the EA people known that they have a friggin problem. Come on, how hard is it to make a save game system THAT ACTUALLY WORKS?? This is insane. I have not been able to play this game past level 29. I will not be buying any more EA products until this issue is addressed and 100% fixed.

I'm going through the forum right now and collecting data on the corrupted saves and crashes that are being reported. Keep posting, and I'll let you all know as soon as I have more information.

At least some one still cares us. Do you want us to send you the corrupted file?

Anyway, installed the 1.02 patch today, doesn't solve the problem. So I guess the data file is really corrupted.

same for me, the patch didn't solve this bug.
I guess all users who reach level 40 gets this problem (on PS3 at least).
How come EA didn't fix this problem???
Really unhappy about the customer feedback.

I got a full refund back due to this very issue, but i keep coming back to this forum hoping somehow it would have been fixed or at least addressed by EA.

Thanks for the response on this. At least I don't feel I'm being ignored on this now. I have now been able to get to level 47 without corruption, but I feel its only a matter of time. If I can help in any way, just let me know.

Is this the 2nd or 3rd time reaching l47? I would backup the save file if I were you. Mine save was at l45. And I stopped playing after that file was corrupted.

Same problem (PS3).Reinstalled patch, no dice. Game keeps requiring me to "start career" or select "options." Can still see my sweet TT though. This has all taken place after a few online unranked quick races and somewhere in the mid-range of level 17.

I also am experiencing this save game corruption or "menu bug" as it were. I'm playing this on PS3 and have only gotten to level 15 perhaps. So i'm doubting the onset of the issue as being anything related to what level you are. EA really needs to fix this though, as it is, the game is unplayable.

One thing that may work for you is "start new career" i did this, and though i lost all my money, i was brought to the "buy car" screen after winning the initial BMW intro race. One thing i found interesting was that I was able to select cars from all the tiers I had previously unlocked. I did not have any money to buy them, but just the fact that it seemed to be "remembering" my previous save was interesting. When trying to buy any car though, it says I cannot because I have no free garage slots. Had I had free garage slots in my previous save, perhaps i would have been able to buy a car and resume my career?? not sure. i would have lost all my money though.


EA please fix this issue so i can play the game i payed $50 for. its the holiday season for *'s sake.
