I know it's been brought up before that people would like to be able to place their ball between the tee box markers, move it left or right, and not always having the ball placed in the middle as it today.

However, in addition to this I would like to see the actual tee markers moved randomly within the tee box every round. When I go out to the course and step up to the first tee the markers could be in the front of the tee box or in the middle or at the back, changing the distance to the middle of the green 10-20 yards depeding on the size of the tee box. Now that par-3 from the back tees could be 155, 167, or even 175 depending on where the markers are placed within the back tee box.

This along with all of the other suggestions people have been making would bring more variables to bear, making it harder to map out courses and shoot really low scores.

Thoughts?

good idea. that with maybe some random pin placements instead of the default 4 would be very nice.

There are more than a few things they could do to add variance to these courses. This is one of them. Great Post!

Yeah, this kinda makes you wonder why they couldn't incorporate 40 or 80 pin locations (10 or 20 of each, easy, med, hard, expert).

After all, I am quite sure that the golf courses move their pins around to move than jut four locations !?!?

These are really Great ideas and im excited to read them. I'm pretty new to the game ( LOVE IT, thank you EA ), but already i've been dissapointed in the crazy low scores online. I'm trying to figure out the differences of each playing category etc.I want to play againt people in the same skill level category as me and move up the ranks.

THere are certainly many ways a player can enjoy this game and anything to make it more a real golf simulation is fine by me. Golf is hard and we shouldn't be able to map out outcomes exactly.

there is a place for the more arcade like experience ( shooting ridiculous scores ), but i like the idea of the tiers getting harder and the outcomes would be more realistic scores.

Thanks

I asked about increasing the number of pin locations last time down there and the person I spoke with told me the ones in the game are actual ones used during events at the various courses. Appearantly in PGA events they DO use a variety of standard locations. Many times while watching on TV I've heard them say something like, "this is the same putt Jack Nicklaus had 30 years ago." To go one step further I believe the courses sign off on acceptable pin locations and possibly wouldn't allow certain (or random) choices. There are rules against certain pin locations also - too close to fringe, on a sidehille lie (seems that one is broke on certain holes in the game).

Don't get me wrong, I think it would be great to have more pin choices - at least 4 or 5 for each difficulty setting. Same with the random tee locations. I am thinking (hoping/praying) that EA has something better in store for TW11 that will make laser golf a distant memory anyways...at least on Tour Pro or a new Sim "Elite" Pro difficulty.

this would be a good idea it would help make mapping a little harder otherwise i could really care less im going to drop it in
actually scratch that this would be awesome on some par 3s where my percent may come up just a little long i could move back a foot or two and my number would be perfect

Yeah, I am pretty sure that the pin locations are not EXACTLY the same. I am sure that there is allowance of (up to) some distance in variation.... otherwise the plugs would never have a chance to regrow.
They could have done the same in the game.... a foot this way or that way....etc..

If you look closely on greens on a real course, you'll notice 3 or 4 grass "plugs" on the green. These are used for moving the pin around the green. Realistically, you can't have "random" pin locations otherwise your green would be completely destroyed from all the plug locations.

I do agree however, I would LOVE to see this in TW11.

I'd like some variance in the pin locations as well. They could start with Bay Hill expert pin on hole 15 and 16. They are tough. To put into perspective, go up onto your roof, drill a hole in the very top. Go back to the edge of the roof, move 3 steps right and say NOW make this in 1 shot!. I hate those 2 hole locations with a passion.
