Aside from playing each game in the GM mode, is there a way to set it so that your backup goalie actually gets some starts? I just finished a season, and the only games my backup goalie even played in were games that I manually switched my starter. I feel like there is an option somewhere in here that I'm overlooking...

Unfortuantly there isn't. Hopefully it will make it into next years game. Right now as far as I can tell it's compeletly random as to when your backup plays. Usually mop up games. I'm sure the endurande of your goalie factors in, but you don't see it.

One of those things EA missed - Goalie fatigue.

It's a must for me for next years game. I never train my goalies on athletisim as it doesn't matter in NHL10.

Hopefully it will make it into next year's game... <---- If I had a nickel for everytime I heard that in this forum

Goalie Fatigue is there, it's just not shown correctly. If you play your starter 20 games in a row, his Overall drops but again, you don't know for sure unless you look.

I don't remember the years but this used to be in the game, you would a message saying that your goalie is fatigued from playing to many games(and it was usually after starting him 7 or 8 times) but they took it out. OP, if you leave the assistant coach edit lines on yes, you're back up usually gets some starts, pobably not enough, but some

If it's not in the game, don't put it in the game

I don't know if it's just me looking for patterns but every now and again, my goalie makes a terrible start like 3 goals on 5 shots and I think to myself maybe he is fatigued (or maybe just plain bad-luck) and put in my backup. Now I mix it up on be a GM to avoid this effect which may or may not all be in my head.
