Even though now that ive played the skate games I say I hate the tony hawk franchise Alot of the time I cant help to reminisce about the games. Ive gotta admit tony hawk games were pretty good. Sure after a while they got bad but his games had a sort of warm feeling. Probably because of their good soundtracks. Now hes trying something different. I mean the board is a great idea. Its that most people after playing skate 2 are used the feel and realism. Its not that ride is a bad game its just that hes sticking to his old concepts, Like insane tricks. From THPS4 - THPG were the best in my opinion. But the concept got old. Its like saying he needs to grow up. But in a way its kinda of a good game If we werent used to something different.

P.S the graphics in this game suck as well. What happend tony.
p.s.s In my opinion american wasteland was the god father of all tonyhawk games. Somewhat better that the skate franchise. They dared to add in bmx. I really dont think EA and BB has the cajones to do that.

respect due to tony hawk, he was like the gta 3 of skate games when the first one came out. i remember getting the demo of it for the first playstation and playing that into the ground, i was hyped! my favorite was the second one with the venice level, i wish skate would recreate the old venice benches, its nice to have the beach area in skate 2. but yeah, that new ride game looks garbage, props to tony for giving it a try though. tony's a legend but hosoi is my boy, whens his game coming out?

I personally think that THPS4 and THUG were the best Hawk games of all time. Everytime I see something like videos of them I just get this really nostalgic feeling. This new stuff, like Project 8, Proving Ground and now this, man they look like crap. There's just something that I don't like about them. The soundtracks have been awesome always though.

the technology going into that board is amazing. if only they could incorperate that kind of innovation and originality into the actual game and reinvent the physics and the way the tricks flow together like the skate franchise did i would buy the game, but they are being stubborn and are unwilling to change the basic formula. that is what is killing the series. i loved the video editor in thpg where you could edit multiple videos together right in game, and from what i understand skate 3 might have this. skate incorperates this video editor, a create a park, more realism, and an adaquate number of pros. in has everything that the hawk series did, but it does it better. the only upside to this game is the technology, and who knows, project natal could eliminate the need for this tech. if skate would incorperate that tech, then tony hawk wouldnt sell a single copy, and skate-it for the wii already has balance board controls. tony hawk has simply run out of ideas, and is trying to make a quick cash in on nostalgia and family gamers. rodney mullen needs to join the pros in skate, not T.H.R.

i don't really mind the graphics, but the animations were better on tony hawk's pro skater.
