ahright, normally how would we get off this rail here:

you'd need to pop an ollie/nollie right?

I was thinking, what if we could use the Sixaxis to lean the board to one side and just slide of the rail
of course this would be a PS3 thing unless the xbox has motion sensor controllers (?)

I think if both consoles have this in their controllers it would be soo much better looking
maybe if it could also be used for blunts/noseblunts/tailslides/noseslides

i completely agree. they dont even have to use sixaxis, you could just use the stick as if you were doing a manual. could also be used to change grinds without using the glitch or like lipslide a ledge then go into manual.

I love this idea, it shouldn't even be that hard to implement, but I don't know... it would make things a lot better and open more possibilities.. this and shuvs should be added to rail skating

Yes, that would open a huge amount of possibilities. I think the manual control off the rail thing sound better. I don't really like to use the sixaxis motions.

1...
thats my favorite s1 spot ever....
EVER!....

cant express the amount of time ive spent on just that one situation....

2...
how to get out?...

do it at a 45 degree so you dont sit on top of the rail and run your trucks into the ledge....
ive done it plenty of times....
actually when my cpu died i lost a front hurry that was at a 45 degree super tweek...
it was like a backwards feebs on a wall...
too dirty
that might not ever happen again...
took a week to do....

and xbox doesnt have a motion controller...
so what are they suppose to do?....

In a situation like that I use the dbl grind glitch but a little differently. You do the grab glitch but when you release the grab button instead of doing a full ollie lean the right analog stick in the direction you need the board to move in the case of my clip above i Pushed it up halfway and it leaned the board forward enough to go over the flat spot, yours you'd pull down halfway...It works in situation like the rail your on in your picture.....warning really hard to do but it works..

but yes a better method would be nice

They do need a leaning or tilting for board slides.....

All they would need to do is make the left or right analog have the ability to tilt/turn your board while your in a board slide.....simple as that.....

i mean look what the analog sticks do now in a board slide.......they just slide you back and forth on the obstacle.....in other words they have no real use....so why not give then a use........

The fact that you cant get out of board slides is such an obvious thing that is broke in this game but the problem is like someone stated earlier, will black box even bother fixing it.....

they definitely need to let us have some REAL board control in boardslides, i hate how they look so stiff (like everything else really but especially with boardslides), all they'd have to do is make it so we can lean from side to side with the right analog stick.

along the same lines, i really hope they fix kinked rails/ledges, i want my skater to react to the kink, not stand up straight like it isn't there. and also i dont wanna fly out of kinks, unless its a short one and ive got alot of speed when i hit it etc.

I really like the Right thumb stick idea

If we just Pushed the stick up or down slightly like you would to manual and that caused him to lean the board in a certian way

i was thinking moving the right analog stick left or right, but with tailslides, noselides, bulntslides, and nosebluntslides it could be up and down on the right analog stick.

i'm sure when you move the stick left or right, the board moves along left or right

yeah it does, but it looks really weird and unrealistic, so if they replaced it with tilting the board that would be a 1000,000,000,000,000 times better in my opinion.

Here's how I see it: A lot of the replay-value in Skate. 1 and 2 is progressing your skill within the game given to you. In other words, there is Skate. 2, right in front of you on your T.V. You're given a very deep set of controls, animations, and options. It's up to you to decide how to hit a spot, what angle to come onto the spot, and how to manipulate your controller to make it look as clean and make it function as a trick properly.

If everything in Skate. is completely deliberate with a set control, it would get very boring and repetitive. Kind of like doing a kickflip over simple gap in Skate. right now. It's not hard, it's not unheard of, and it's not artistic (like real skateboarding). Anyone can kickflip a gap in Skate.

If you're given a set control to lean out of a boardslide in that certain situation, where's the skill? It completely removes the depth, skill, and replay value of the game to have such deliberate controls. If everyone had a simple function to do all of these tricks, none of the videos we make would be worth watching... What's next? Are we going to have the Replay Editor film completely for us with no thought, just the push of a button?

I'm pretty soused, so excuse the rant-style writing. I'm just trying to point out that there's a separation between recreational Skate. players and hardcore Skate. players. The recreational player is not going to figure out how to lean out of a boardslide like that, it's not that obvious to the non-skater or inexperienced skater. The hardcore player is just going to get bored with the easy controls. Skateboarders are creative people and like challenges when it comes to skateboarding. We like the reward that comes from accomplishing a trick... where does that personality go if everything is predetermined and written in a handbook?
