PS3 & Wii players use a Bic razor - it's a real close shave.

Seriously, I believe Microsoft is an event sponsor so that is why it's restricted to 360 only.

Kinda stinks to alienate a pretty big sector of your customers like offering this to only the xbox players, I dont care who is sponsering it. We are all EA customers.
Leaves a very salty taste in my mouth, IMO , shows us PS3 players and Wii players that EA holds the xbox in higher regards than us, thats all.
If we had a choice of golf games, this might be detrimental to EA's future sales to the console owners that are snubbed.
Pretty poor marketing
They should try and get Sony andf Nintendo to sponser the same thing on their consoles or not offer this at all.

You make a big assumption that EA didn't approach Sony and Nintendo to sponsor the contest on their systems also and were turned down.
It could be that your anger is directed in the wrong direction. Not sure we'll have any way of knowning but it's something to at least consider.

Maybe if EA would explain why its offered to only the xbox, assumptions wouldn't be needed.
And its not anger, just dissappointment, please dont confuse the two, anger is saved for real life situations not video games.

I doubt you will see any explanation forthcoming. Were EA to come out publicly and say, "well Sony wouldn't negotiate" that would burn about any bridge for future marketing deals. Same goes for no explanations forthcoming why certain golf courses are not included in the game.
I think it's fantastic they are offering gamers a chance to play against Tiger Woods in his game. Sorry it can't be for all systems.

Don't doubt what you say here.
Just wondering if it is an MS spondered event, why it is advertised as a Gillette / EA sponsered event?
Does anyone know if it will be single try, single submission event?
Will it be live weather or random?
I won't win but if it isn't single try/single submission, then I think we can already work out who the winners will be by looking at the live tournament LB's.
At this point though, I will admit I have probably missed something!
I shall play anyway as it is just another way to get more from the game (and I still need my $5m LT achievement

There are many different levels of sponsorship for events. There are "name" sponsors, ie their name is in the title on down to someone like Gatorade who may just provide cups and drink for the event. I think MS is also offering up some free MS points as prizes too?

This is the same event that was held for 360 users last year. I can assure you that EA has approached Sony and Nintendo to sponsor something similar as they surely would like to see all platforms have the same opportunity. I feel pretty safe in saying this based on the amount of Dev interaction with this community and all of the special events they have repeatedly offered. I truly empathize with PS3 and Wii users.

Cool, now that there are prizes, the fact that people will 'play the game their own way' will have a potential impact on me.
The leader boards are and have been full of cheesers and cheaters and now they have a chance to be rewarded for it. AWESOME JOB.
EDIT: Yeah, go ahead... accuse me of just being bitter or whatever because you think I have the "I am not able to post the super-low scores therefore those who are must be cheating." attitude.
But watch, time will tell. I have any money that the guy who wins buy posting a -29 to-32 doesn't even come close to that score at the Gaming Global Finals when someone is watching them.
