For some reason when I start the beta my tv goes to 480p output. Is there a reason for this?

Yah when I was on the menu I couldn't read anything, hurt my eyes lol.

It seems to be in 720p for me.

Are you using HDMI?

When you go to the display settings for HDMI you have to make sure every resolution is 'ticked'. If you have a resolution it doesn't support 'ticked' then it defaults to 480p

On my tv I can press info and it tells me what it is running in. It says 480p and I cant force the ps3 to output only in 480p. Maybe its just the menu?

Oh i figured it out. I had my ps3 forced to go into 1080p. I just went to display settings and checked all the options for supported formats 720p 1080i and 1080p. I guess you cant upscale the beta into 1080p.

Yep, that will do it. Bad idea to only select 1080p for that reason.

I'm screwed as I have an HDMI to DVI adapter, and the tv only does 480p and 1080i. Problem with display settings is I can't uncheck 480p, I do't understand why the game is defaulting the lowest resoution

mine goes to 720p. :shrug:

what the hell kind of "TV" is that?

Maybe the beta doesn't support 1080 anything only up to 720p, so it forces it down instead.

I don't think any games are out that are 1080i or 1080p. If your tv won't do 720p i'm rather sure you're SOL

There is lots of games that are 1080p.

Not really. I couldn't name much more than sports games or the occasional racing game that actually run at 1080p. No shooters atl east.

You obviously don't bother to check, now do you?

There's are tons of games that run that run at 1080p on both the Xbox and PS3.
