Okay BFBC2 has some good things going on from what I could tell while viewing the beta.

Weapons and gadgets are the same with a couple new items, and better (i think) accuracy, damage, and rate of fire variety between each weapon. And will be able to pick your secondary weapon.

I guess I like all the applications you can change between body armor, vehicle armor, extra grenades or extra ammo, and so on. They are pretty cool, but i imagine you can only use two or three of the apps at a time, not all of them at once.

Rank advancement looks like it'll be about the same, points wise and unlocks.

Gonna be a great game for sure, but it'll take a lil more time gettin used to all the new apps. Saveing ppl on your team and squad, following and giving orders. Gonna be confusing as hell for the first few weeks. But once we all get the hang of whats going on (and reach general of the army) This game will blow the first BC outta the water.

Just hope a lot of the glitches have been fixed...but I doubt it!

I'm already annoyed because the UMP is the last one to unlock for that class.. lol

And I sure hope the text size is bigger in the game. I find it really small and hard to read.

i just finish playing three hours of BFBC2 BETA. I have mix feelings, some things are great some just annoying. one granade, no specialist, the engineer has all the specialist weapons and they gave the recon kit the C4. at first its just running around knowing your landscape. lots of snipers camping on the side hills and rocks. i guess it could get better later with more maps ones is release on march.

I think we just got to get used to the new classes. For example every class now got grenades, every class now can choose a shotgun. After ranking up, you can "customize" your soldier. Of course you get new weapons, but you can also choose stuff like different "carrier-system" (LCE - load-carrying system) to have more grenades, more ammo etc., or a light vest so you can sprint faster.

No, totally different. I had one round yesterday where I got 9000 points (2500 "battle points" or whatever they call it, plus 6500 "award points").

The graphics are really nice, but you can clearly see, that this is a beta cause for example some weapon-models still look like *. The weapons look better in BC1 imho.

Knifing is a pain in the *, it won't let you run around with your knife out.

Fortunately, you can customize your controls.

Had two good rounds goin 23/9 and 20/7 yesterday, last round with Tourettes and Bulldog was annoying, went 21/35... Didn't hit *, couldn't kill a fvckin T90 tank - shot him several times with an M1 BMT, with RPG - no chance. Maybe that dude already had that armour-upgrade.

Anyways, nice game but still quite some work to do.

I've played it for an hour yesterday and to be honest, I wasn't too impressed, I'm hoping they do some dramatic fixing up on it.

Here's the things I was concerned with:

- The gameplay wasn't very smooth, I can't exactly explain it, but it just didn't run as smoothly as BFBC.
- The games were too long, they turned out to be quite tedious.
- Why did they have to change the controls, the controls were perfect before, why fix something that is not broken.
- I didn't think much of the graphics, they didn't seem smooth enough.
- Whilst I understand DICE wanting to make the game seem more realistic, it seemed that they added too much recoil to the weapons. I know BFBC had no recoil on weapons, but it seems BFBC2 has too much, I could hardly hit anything that was far away with the AEK assault rifle because of the high recoil.
- Not enough bullets in the clip. Especially as you miss targets because of the high recoil, the bullets run out way too quick.
- Whilst sniping with the M24, it seemed that targets which were far away weren't clear enough, you couldn't really make out the head, hence being unable to make headshots.
- I hate the fact the specialist kit (my favourite kit) is no longer available and now it has become and engineer kit with a RPG and a drill? I want my damn C4 back.
- I don't like the way you knife now.

The was some other gripes I had with the game, but I've forgotten them, haha.

I'm probaby a little harsh with my verdicts of the game, after all it's still in beta version and I only played for one hour, but I just had higher expectations from it because BFBC is such an excellent game and was expecting BFBC2 to be much better.

Are you NUTS?

The only thing that sucks is the assault has only 30 bullets that finish in 10 seconds

Im just comparing it to BFBC and don't think it's as good. Maybe they'll improve stuff on the final version.

I played for about 2 hours last night, and I have to say that I love it. Using the d-pad to change "gadgets" will take some getting used to, but it should work itself out after more playing time.

to tell you the truth, the only real complaint i have isn't in the gameplay, but that its recon that gets c-4. i'm no good as recon, but i love to blow stuff up. oh well.....

had some really good games last night, 20-12 i think and 26-25. the only thing is, on the 26-25 game i had, i didn't get any points at the end of the round, so i didn't do any kind of leveling up. it said i earned 0 points....i guess maybe i should report that on the beta forum.

games seemed to last a long time, but i like that, should improve as the players get a lot better.

biggest surprise was that the mics seemed to be working properly, and that a lot of people are using them. this might be because a lot of CoD people downloaded the beta. a few random squad mates last night were talking about how this was the first time they played battlefield. most of these CoD people seemed to be recon campers (BARF)

I played for 2 hrs and I'm pretty disappointed. Terrain doesn't have the BD1 feel, which isn't all bad but just doesn't feel like your playing BC2, just another game.

You can set your controls to "Alternate" so they are the same as BC1 except the knife won't stay out.
And set one of the other ones to "Drive" to make the controls for the vehicles the same as BC1.

I don't care who you are, unless you camp, your K/D ratio will be HORRIBLE in this game. I would go 20/20 then 3/12 then 18/8 just random * b/c you die so fast and can't kill 3 ppl with one mag, you run outta bullets to fast with crappy accuracy.

kits all mixed up, hard to read stuff, hard to see enemy, hard to figure out mini-map and where the enemy is when lit up on the mini-map, 1 grenade? come on! where's my demo kit? i just don't know why they made SO MANY drastic changes, as it's been said: If it ain broke don't * fix it!

I'm sure we'll all get use to it, or we'll just play BC1!

One thing I'll say good is I love shocking falling team mates back to life with the defibrillator AND I KILLED TWO ENEMIES WITH IT! AWESOMELY FUNNY!

One question - are the team comms open to all - rather than just 4 people (squad as per BFBC1). I hope the comms have been opened up to all people. Can anyone feedback this at all ?.

I'm an XBOX owner - miffed that beta is on PS only.

Hope the buttons remain the same for XBOX - hoopefully they will read this thread and listen to feedback comments so far.

I prefer long games - but the short games i have experienced on BFBC1 are due to the inability of a team to do what is needed - usually newbies and oldies. Tried MW2 - too enclosed, lag means people see me before i see them even when hiding in cover. Bigger maps mean less chance of instant death and lag impact is a lot lower.
