It has now been 1 month since we last heard from the developers. The tech support forum are overflowing with reports and everyone is waiting like little kids on christmas for just one simple reply.
So please, open up the blog, submit a new message and just say "Hey everyone, here is what we have gathered from the community and will be improving with the next patch, wich will be released in about .... weeks.".
Take 10 minutes of your time, tell the community that you are in fact working hard on fixing the problems and make sure to list them. I belive I speak for most of us when I say, we realy don't want to wait for the third patch just because you somehow missed some of the most important issues.

I've heard they are working on a patch, it's called NHL 11 will be released September - October 2010 and cost you roughly 60$ USD.

I don't want to burst your bubble or anything, but you're very lucky to be hearing from them at all, in fact you're even luckier that they are actually releasing fixes for the game.
As for a developer taking 10 minutes out of their day, you clearly don't know any developers personally. Most that I know of are under such tight deadlines that they regularly work 10-16 hour days just to try to keep up, they literally don't have 10 minutes to tell you that everything is going to be alright.
If EA devs send out a communication stating what's coming, awesome... if not, that's ok too - because if they aren't telling you anything that means they are likely busy working on fixing stuff (which is good!).
I believe EA has a tech support number that you are free to call and question them about upcoming fixes, as a customer facing group they should be provided with the information that the developers want you to have.

You aren't going to find developers on here bud. They've made the game - it's awesome and its also finished. They've moved on to next years game and patches.
Get over it and enjoy the game or return it and quit whining.

I don't necessarily feel that EA developers have any obligation whatsoever to post here, but I feel the need to clarify something:
I've been a developer for years.. and I can tell you that what this guy says is NOT true...
If you're regularly putting in 10-16 hour days, you're working for a crap company that poorly manages scope and deadlines... Yes, 10-16 hours days near launch are an unfortunate reality of developers working on big projects... but even those would be avoided by proper scope management and deadline management...

i'm also a dev and working long hours is likely close to a deadline or if there are problems, but all the time? nope. more like slacking off most of the time.

Most gameplay patches only make gameplay worse, so I think now that the freezing issue is fixed, I don't want anything from them.

First of all, the issues with the game freezing has not been fixed. Sure, the game will freeze less during matches but it still happens from time to time. Tho the menues are constantly freezing forcing you to restart the console (atleast on the 360).
Sure, there is a slight chance gameplay fixes might mess up what is not broken but thats not our concern. If they can't fix something without breaking something else they wouldn't be very good at their job.
There are still plenty of glitch goals that needs to be looked at, aswell as issues with the button placements, penalty calls and other various bugs.
Gameplay wise, it's very much playable as it is, but they are far from being able to say that this game don't need patches.
As with their working hours, of course I have no idea how hard they work, maybe they don't have 10 minutes to make a simple blog post. But if they don't have time to write, they don't have time to read and if they don't read what players are gathering in the forum, how do they kow what to work on? I don't know, maybe that is what the community managers are for, but why don't they just tell us whats going on and what is to be expected in the future. As of now posting issues and requesting help on the forums is like talking to a wall, someone needs to get more involved with the community, there is no excuse!

At this time the devs would be in full swing getting NHL 11 under way.

NHL 10 was released about the same time as 09 was released last year.. The final patch was released around february, so unless they are working on something massive for NHL 11, they are hopefully still focused on fixing this game.
Still doesn't explain their lack of interaction with the community.

Last year was the first year they got involved in the community, so that alone is a huge step, there has been no official word as to what they are doing, so I can nor comment if they are working on anything for 10
