Radeon HD 4650
Intel Dual Core "1.60 GHz Performance Rated at: 2.4 GHz"(according to system requires lab (I'm aware it only uses one core))
2 gigs of Ram

Oh, and before you say that it's impossible because of the CPU, watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPImxAKFX9k

Identical specs except for the graphics card, and he's clearly running it.

Basically what I'm asking is what kind of improvements(or worsening) in performance can I expect in comparison to that video, except with a Radeon HD 4650 512mb card instead of a GeForce 9300M GS 256 MB?

It will run, but probably on low specs. Having a 1.6 dual core(rated at 2.4???) will be minimum. Yes its dual core, but even combined they will be almost maxxed out. As far as the Graphics card goes, its also minimum. It seems that since 1.5 was released alot of cards that ran at average specs are struggling. You will probably have to have your settings on low to stop some choppy screen movement. 512 may seem like alot, but I was using a nvidia 8500/512 card and I was battling. Now im on a gt260 1gb card, and LOVIN it.

Yeah, I'm fine with medium to low settings, though I think you are underestimating the 4650. It's a much better card than the 8500. The 4650 is much better than the Nvidia 8600 and the Nvidia 9400, let alone the 8500. It's one of the better cards for its $55 price tag. Considering the game is 4 years old, I think the card will perform on it. The question is, will it be low or medium quality? I'm leaning towards low, though I hear BF2 is a GPU-heavy game.

If u r ok with low-medium settings u should be fine. Sometimes its about the tactics u use more than the in game settings which determines how well u go.
As far as the card, there is so many different opinions on how good each one is. When I was using the 8500 nvidia it was considerd middle range, I was acheiving good settings, not the best but above medium, mind you my cpu was only a 3ghz single core. When I got a new rig, the opinions on which card to go for were varied. I decided on the 260 as it had some great reviews. Yes there was better, but not many.
I have read that the 4650 is very good, and reasonably priced. But now you can find so many excellent cards. It is a choice hard to make.

What do you mean by "Tactics?" You mean like air combat vs ground forces or what? Because I don't plan on being a pilot.

It's not a hard choice. The 4650 is literally the only card I could find that is compatible with my slim line Inspiron 530s.

AAAhhhh, the slim 530!. My brother in-law has that model. Its a good machine, not built for gaming but if u have it as a businees machine with gaming secondary(sacrilege, lol), then not bad.
What I mean by tactics is if your STYLE of play is good, then the graphics settings wont make a difference. If you tend to play as say Spec Ops, using C4 to damage enemy assets or take out soldiers in jeeps etc, then you wont need to have the graphics a long-range sniper might want. As far as flying, I felt like that a few months ago. I didnt try to fly, as I was doing well on the ground. But recently I have been getting in the air, and racking up some great scores aswell.
The differences in graphics might be minute for you, but since I have upgraded to a very good gaming rig, with the ability to have maximum graphic settings, and playing on a 24 inch screen aswell, I have found renewed interest and vigour in game. My K/D has improved dramatically.
Sometimes tactics mean alot. Quite a few players will only play as certain classes, even if its to the disadvantage of the team. They wont spawn as A/T if thats whats needed. But thats another subject.lol.

Lol, you've got to be joking!!! I just downloaded the demo, and everything is on high with AA at 4x's, and I'm getting at least 60-70 fps. Haven't had a slowdown yet! This card is ridiculously good.
