I was down like 6-2 in Chicago late in the 3rd, so i thought i could try to get some fights.

worked well the first time, but the 2nd one denied the fight so that i got a minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct out of it....

the funny thing was that this went to the scoresheet...

so it left that guy out for 6 minutes.

Bug or just a rule i missed?

You were called for multiple penalties, just like you can get say roughing, tripping and unsportsmanlike for doing them in that order.

By the looks of it the guy turned you down twice before accepting the fight, leading to three instigator penalties.
