I just bought Madden 07 for my laptop and it runs fine, what I need to know now is how to get the game to work the way I want. I am one of those strange people who only plays Madden for the Franchise mode as a Coach, I have zero interest in taking over any of the players. However, it isn't obvious how to do this, in the game settings I have it set to Coach Mode but when I go to 'Play Now' just to find out how to call plays and make audibles, line shifts etc the game just plays itself CPU vCPU even though I have set one of the teams to human control.
Do I need to create a profile in order to play in Coach Mode? I am not using a controller so with a laptop I don't know if the touchpad is recognised as a mouse or not..would that make any difference?
In Franchise mode when I choose a team and get to the Training Camp screens there is no Total Simulation Control option which I believe you have to set in order to play as a Coach in Franchise. Also there is no Revolver or Owners Box option..
Any advice would be much appreciated

Ok, I found out you have to drag a controller symbol over the team you want to control to get Coach Mode to work in the Play Now option. I also understand that Revolver and Owners Box options don't kick in until you are later in the season..
