After some advise i disable firewall, antivirus, but no results. I have also re-installed EADM/EA Downloader, but when i run Dragon Age executable immediately quits.

I tried everything, re-downloaded and reinstalled the game, but no results

have the exact same issue, also tried a full reinstall, firewall disable or various exceptions with no result. No information seem to be available on the topic other then "check your firewall" which has obviously been done.

In the same boat, can't find help anywhere.

Downloaded from Direct2Drive, haven't had an issue like this before, but I'm going to be buying only hard copies for now on.

Having this same problem, downloaded it from Direct2Drive. Using Windows Vista, have tried disabling firewall/antivirus to no avail. Any suggestions would be so helpful.

SOLUTION: I have found a solution to this problem. You must have an account with EA, and have the EA Download Manager installed. Run the Download Manager. Under the "Activate a product" tab, paste your activation code (the same one you received from Direct2Drive. Then, select "Dragon Age," and it should appear in the next tab under games you already have. Click the "Run Game" button there, and it ought to work!

Let me know if this isn't clear...

I have an EA account and have tried all the previous mentioned methods. With your method, I cannot activate my product in the download manager because I already activated it via the game website. I would think this would work just as well, but I am still unable to access EA Core and play my game...

Jewwookie,

We are aware that some customers who purchased the game from direct2drive are having problems playing the game. Our development team is working to get it fixed as soon as possible. I will make sure to post back here once a fix is rolled out.

Thanks for your patience.

Don't know if this will work for anyone else, but here is how I got it working.

First I made sure my Windows Firewall had the Dragon Age application as an "allowed" program. I also use Comodo Internet Security Firewall so I manually added Dragon Age and an "allowed" program for that firewall as well.

Once I verified both Firewalls were allowing Dragon Age to connect to the internet the game worked perfectly.

My Advise: Make sure to check any other possible Firewalls from Anti-virus programs you have running on your computers. I would also check any router (built-in) firewalls.

This worked for me: Don't start the game from the Dragon Age shortcut, instead start it from EA Download Manager.
Hopefully someone will save the 10 minutes of time I wasted on figuring this out.

Smells like a bug in EA system somewhere.

This worked for me, thanks.

Starting the game from EADM was needed only once. After the first time, the normal shortcuts work fine.

Hey guys,

Thanks for letting us know this worked, we will definitely pass the information along to other customers who are receiving the same problems. Did you all purchase the game from Direct 2 Drive, or did some of you purchase from the EA Store?

Thanks!

I had the same problem. Earlier tried disabling firewall/anytivirus, starting from EADM - didn't help.

What worked for me when i lost my hope me was unchecking 'run as administrator' from dragonage executable and launcher (it was checked). Starting the game from EADM. Then i checked back 'run as administrator' as its needed for content updater service to start properly (found it elsewhere)

Hope it helps someone.
