Its just his 2nd year, but everytime I see this guy hes playing well. In his rookie season he only got 67 carries but ran for 357 yards (5.3 avg)
And now with LJ gone hes finally been bumped to the starter and has played well. He went for 103 and a TD against OAK, and today against PIT for 58 and a TD (receiving) and a KO return. Hes averaging over 5 yards per carry again this year at 5.4. Only downside I see is blocking as hes just 5 11" 190. He kinda reminds me of Chris Johnson, just not quite as extreme.
Your thoughts?

I say they got great potential to have a decent Running game. All they need is a better oline so he stays consistent. They could also use another more proven running back for next year from FA. Maybe a deauce mccalister type of player. I wodent count on Kolby smith or that Savage guy.
other then that, i can see this team in years being a strong team.

I chose a change of pace guy. No way with that body structure that he can handle a full seasons worth of carries and duress. I'm currently giving the Chiefs Toby Gerhart with their second 2nd round pick, and Gerhart is the definition of a grinder, and a workhorse. He's being worked to the bone in Stanford, and he's responded amazingly. Toby can go between the tackles and he can soften up coverage, while Charles has the BOOM effect that is so special. With those two, they'd be pretty formidable in the backfield. Also, he's a white RB, and I want at least one white RB to succeed in the NFL(No racist)...

They haven't drafted a RB in the first round in at least 5 years...
Who exactly are they going to pick up in free agency? Kevin Faulk, who's 33? Leon Washington, who's exactly the same type of back as Jamaal Charles? Willie Parker, who is the same type again? Chester Taylor, who's getting up in years, and isn't a feature back? The only one that would make any sense to me at all would be LenDale White, who will likely not get resigned,

I really can't see Faulk not getting resigned by the Pats and if he didn't he would probably retire.

I know he played well at Texas and won a National Championship. He was scouted as a "poor man's Felix Jones" so I think he'll be fine.

Just because there not in the first round doesent mean they didint get drafted? When you draft a player in the 4th 5 round, hes supposed to be a backup. They have great young depth at the runningback postion. Lendell would be a perfect choice. A decent sized runniing back./

I like him a lot. Not to many RB's are really a every play type of running back now a days, but I do think Charles can be your feature back with a power back to compliment him.
