Whats the best way to stop a screen? I'm using Patriots and this special ed * thought he was cool by spamming a screen over and over and over again. Whats a good way to stop it?

Cover 2, spread the D-Line and get the D-Line to rush outside.
QB Spy a DT and manually control that player.
When you see the O-Lineman move left or right, follow them and get below the blockers and man up the HB.

I guess I'll practice that. Thanks
Other question, why is that my opponent gets to influence my play clock? When I get done calling my play, the clock will stop at like 24 , then after he picks a play all of a sudden the clock only has 12 seconds left, which isn't even time to call a audible or have my players go in motion with out delay of game.

The clock running down is the Accelerated Clock. It will wind down the play clock on every play for you and your opponent.
It default runs 15 seconds off the clock. I believe it runs it down to 12-13 seconds. So if you choose a play with 15 seconds on teh play clock it will run off just a few seconds.
Best advice for this is to know what play you want as soon as the play is finished, to give yourself more time.

Realism - if you look at a real game, there is about 10-15 seconds on the play clock when a QB is stepping up to the line.
For Madden:
A - If I am leading late in the 4th qtr (before the 2 min warning) I am going to run the ball and take my time choosing the play and let the play clock run down before I run the play (This cuts out waiting for this to happen)
B - Ever played a guy who motions a guy to see if it is man. then motions back because that how the play is run.
Now these players are forced to hurry up and now struggle reading a D.

If you want realism then you wouldn't having something stupid like that in the game.
Like I said , does that happen in a real game? I been watching games since I was a kid and quarter backs have always had time to send some one in motion and call new plays.
Realism? Really? Does a real NFL game have an accelerated clock run off?

nah it wasn't added for realism. that was some excuse IAN mad to try to justify it after people complain. it was added so the games would go by faster so people can more games in an give time. and instead of admitting their fail they made rank games 7min making games even longer than ever and defeating the purpose for having it in the 1st place. I hate acel rated clock. if I want to factor in time it take the QB to take a snap I would just take my time calling a play. realism? HA don't make me laugh ever notice how Special teams don't even get in to their frmaion but just appear set with no extra time taken off for them to come on the field

Yea I absolutely hate the acc clock feature, by the time I get to the line there is under 10 seconds left, then If I'm about to get blitzed I don't even have time to call a new play with out getting a delay of game called on me.
I think it should be optional in al lthe games including ranked.

I prefer how the feature is used in NCAA.
There is an option to turn on accelerated clock when you want to use it on offense.
I like the feature for offline games, because the CPU always calls plays straight away.

Yea I think it's a disadvantage to the offense when the defense can use it against you if I take longer then 5 seconds to call a play .

Back to the first question about the screen.. One thing I like doing is to sub a defensive end with a linebacker and manually make him run a zone in the flat.

A video game will never have 100% realism, the accer clock was to replicate the realism. In the REAL NFL, it takes about 12-15 seconds to:
(1) Call in the packages
(2) Relay the play from the coordinator---> head coach ---> QB
(3) Call the play in the huddle
(4) Break the huddle
(5) Make your calls at the line
(6) Snap the ball.
Without the accelerated clock, you can end one play and line up for the next play all in 2 seconds. Now you tell me.... what is more "realistic"?
Sheesh people... EA gets ripped apart left and right... cut them a break when they finally get something right.

How can EA take these threads seriously when people are complaining about FG nets, hair styles, and stripes on socks!?!?! |

Very funny!!!
This is one of the many things that they compleatly tanked. I would put this in the list full of Madden IQ, Superstar mode, and QB vision.
