You're the Head Coach on a losing team AKA the 49ers. With very little hope in the playoffs what would you do and why? Regardless of what your choice is, you can develop talent and add new options in to your gameplan.

Tank 3 seasons, get the best linemen from drafts, get linebackers from USC, and get a QB from Michigan.

if i was in the bottom three, i might honestly tank for the top pick, but other than that i would play hard and look for good things and success to build on in the upcoming seasons

I would tank and load up in the off-season. During the rest off this season, I would just gameplan to see what different guys can and can't do so I really know what we need to pick up for next season. As for the Niners, keep Jimmy Raye. I feel the real reason of our lack of offense is the O-Line. You can't run any offense without an O-Line.

i would absolutly not tank because there is no honour in giving up. as the wise Herm Edwards said "You play to win the game!" and i agree. Tanking a season to get a better pick in the draft is cheating period.

i mean if theresl ike 2 or 3 games left, but now that i think about it there is no point unless there is a clear number 1 pick so far above everyone else

Just rest your starters and play your rookies...

Definitely play hard until the end. Always fight for a respectable record. I'm telling you 5-11 looks a hell of a lot better than 4-12, and 7-9 looks a hell of a lot better than 6-10. Even if you've got no chance for playoffs, tanking at the end just spreads doubts about your ability as a coach, and about the talent of your team.

Go hard or go home. "You play to win".

I would not say maybe purposely tank..

If your playoff hopes are gone.. give players who need development and experience play time. If you win with them, then so be it. If you don't, then whatever. Work on letting your growing talent.. grow.

first of all, Mike Singletary would NEVER tank. ANd this is football son, tanking is cowardice and it shows you are a weak coach and team, you need heart to play in the NFL. That means giving it your all all the time. By doing this, morale is kept up, and your team becomes closer through hardships
