now that I'm past that, it looks like history is repeating itself. Where is the 2nd patch? There is new info released once a month. You string us along then the patch finally comes out between december and march. the same story every year and right now is that sony and microsoft have it. Well where is the proof? Why when every other game has a patch it comes out right away? And EA submits a patch for madden and it takes 2-3 months to approve it. Why must we suffer through the same song and dance year after year?

I thought all you Australians were aganist British rule, but here you are using a British word. By the way I did look it up. It means whine. So you told everybody to quit whining with 2 words. WOW. Real Genius. That is a real zinger.

You know, that's one thing I have always wondered myself. How is it that Madden patches take so long to get through Sony and MS but other games patches don't take long at all? Is it because of the ridiculous amounts of stuff they have to address in each patch? I mean, if you think about it, most companies release patches for their games that pertain to one or two specific issues...especially in FPS games and such. But with EA and Madden, they have to fix upwards of 10+ issues with each patch. Is this why it takes so freaking long? Because Sony and MS have to test 10+ problems compared to just 1 or 2 specific problems with most games? If that's the case, I can somewhat understand why it takes so long if they have to test upwards of 10+ bug/glitch fixes over and over to make sure they are indeed fixed. But at the same time, the majority of these problems shouldn't even be problems at all...they should have been corrected before the game came out. Taking advantage of the internet and relying on future patches to fix problems just so you can knowingly release a rushed game to make the deadline will not go over well with your customer base. This isn't a knock on EA, it's just a fact. Ian admitted the first patch had been completed before the game was even released, so that in itself proves they rushed the game to meet the deadline and knowingly released an unfinished game...it also proves that to truly get Madden where it should be by now, they need to extend the development time and start releasing a new, full game every 1 year and 6 months or every 2 years so they will not be so rushed to meet the August deadline year in and year out. But I haven't said anything that hasn't been said before, so it's whatever. I'm to the point now where I have grown tired of waiting for this patch and of the game itself altogether. I learned my lesson this year though. TRY before you BUY. No demo. Just don't buy into the hype around the game, rent it when it is released, and spend 5-7 days testing it out...that way you will truly know how much has been fixed and what problems still remain. If there are still problems, return it to the rental place and wait for the next patch. Rinse and repeat until you rent a patched version of the game that works and then go buy it. That's really the only solution.

When this patch was announced, I was under the impression that it was going to be released within a week. I had no
idea, that I would have to wait this long. I wish, they hadn't announced that they were wrapping it up.

Surely 20% of us will stop buying the game next year

Surely Brandon Jennings will get Rookie of the year award this season

at last. somebody agrees with me. everybody busts my chops year after year on the forum about this. I'm always accused of whining, crying, whinging, or some other stupid sh*t. I really don't care how many times the rosters are updated or if some uniform isn't perfect. I would be fine with 1 roster update a month. I just don't think that these patches should be an issue every year. so what if some rating doesn't suit somebody. I'm a fan of the dallas cowboys, so you can see that I don't care about the ratings. I just have suffered since 1998 with no playoff wins. Thats the main reason I play madden. I can win every single game in 30 years of franchise mode with the dallas cowboys. It takes away the pain of every season being bad. I just want to buy madden, play it, and not have to deal with fu*kups. When I spend $60 I want my moneys worth.

I agree with the last few posts. I am so sick of waiting for this patch as well. EA really messed up Madden 10 and have me really questioning whether I will ever buy another version of Madden again. I even let someone borrow my copy for the last 2 weeks while waiting for the patch just so they can see all the problems for themself without having to spend $60 on a half finished product. Every version of Madden (and all other games) have their share of issues, but this year is the worst I've experienced from EA and Madden. Its a shame that such a great franchise seems to be deteriorating before our very eyes.

You're friggin nuts... this is the best Madden I've ever played. I've never been able to make it through more than 2 seasons of a 'chise without getting bored or figuring out the system and never worrying about losing a game or whatever, but with this I've gone through about 10 years worth with my 9ers and still goin strong. I don't know what you guys are playing but it's not this game.

Lol @ half finished. You fail.

This is by far armageddon for the madden series. When it went to next gen it just went down hill, maybe the lack of competiton has caused them not to care, but they need to get it right. Ps2 version of madden has been better by far even till this day. We didnt have patches during the ps2 days so they had to make it right.

The best Madden I've played was Madden 07 on the Wii.

It was the only 07 that was pre-gen and it was great with the Wii controls. Hardly any flaws in that game, the AI was fair, and the offensive line weren't retarded. No towels though, oh my God.
