Hi i just bought The Sims 3 this last friday and i came home and put the disc into my dvd drive and the drive didnt see it there. It would not auto start so i tried manually opening it but every time i click my dvd drive in My Computer it asks me to put a disk into that drive even though The Sims 3 disc is in there! i returned the game and got a new one hoping it might just be the disc but that didnt help at all. i have tried alot of different sollutions like closing background tasks and processes but that doesnt help either. please help

Sounds like a DVD drive problem. Is it dirty? Can it read other discs fine?

I'd look into cleaning the eye on it. I have to download games onto this computer because the drive on here can't read anything.

What you could do is download the EA Download Manager, use your EA account to log in, then put in your serial code and it should begin downloading it.

yea my dvd drive reads pretty much everything else. It reads music cd's other dvd rom games and all that. ty for the advice though. i will try the ea download manager thing and see if that works

You can also try uninstalling the CD drive from your computer's device manager. If you reboot, the computer should detect the drive and automatically reinstall it. That seems to fix most issues like yours. Let me know if that still doesn't work and we can try some further troubleshooting.

I purchased the Sims 3 but I can't install it. It downloaded in EA manager but when I try to install, it stops after I accept the licensing agreement.

Are you running Windows Vista? If so, try right-clicking on the EADM and selecting Run as Administrator.

I bought the Sims3 and installed it. Worked perfectly until my sister got ahold of my mac. She partially uninstalled it and now when I try and reinstall it stops at file 205 and sits at a dead stop for hours. Any suggestions?

I just bought sims 3 late night the expansion pack and tried to install it but it wouldnt work and so i tried to play the regular sims 3 and now that wont work either..
ive uninstalled everything i can possibly uninstall about the sims 3 and when i try to install the first sims 3 it says that a later version is already uninstalled

please help
