in other discussions, it has been noted that offline BAP is stale and boring and needs to have more added to it to interest the guys that buy the game year in, year out. what are your guys ideas that you would like added? i have said this in numerous posts, but here's my ideas:

- co-op Be A Pro. get drafted with a friend and play a career together (ex. sedins) this would have to be an online mode i guess. either that or system link.
- NHL record book as opposed to generic milestones. try to beat all existing NHL player records, career and single season.
- for goalies, make a custom mask and equipment with various team symbols and paint patterns and make your own style.
- player incentive bonus'. not just the regular season expectations. have real contracts that you sign and earn money and EXP for your player. make it so you start with vintage 80's brown leather equipment, heavy as all hell and you have to perform and earn money to buy yourself better equipment....or get endorsed by breaking X number of NHL records to unlock Bauer and RBK equipment and so on.
- i don't know about you guys, but the facial hair and hair styles need major improvement. when i play the ducks and i see parros skate by with that big beautiful stache, i think to myself, i want a big porn stache for playoffs... or i want a ZZ Top beard/goatee.
- there's certain players in the NHL that each teams fans hate. add in a "approve" button if you select prior to starting the BAP that you want some say in team direction. i don't want turco as my goalie, but i do. if the wings signed pronger i'd dive across the living room and try to hit the power button as fast as i can.
- you should be able to recommend line combos, and offer to switch position to accommodate a line set-up. ex, i play centre but i'd play wing on the PP to play with datsyuk at C and Z on his wing. or even play D on the PP if my guy has a big shot.
- when you start a BAP, give the option of generic point set-ups for snipers, pwr fwd, playmaker, etc, or have a custom player where you start at all 50's and apply a set amount of points on your guy and then proceed with your career.
- player interviews. have interviews with your player like in madden. build your own fanbase by how you play and how you act on and off the ice. see people in the crowd with your jersey on.

hopefully you guys like the ideas and can add on to them and we see some in NHL 12! that's all off the top of my head for now.

Game faces generated from photos. Really thought it'd be in this year since FIFA had it in 10 already, but nope. Can't be too hard to implement since it's basically all done.

Update to player faces and looks would be nice.

Chance to play an entire season in the CHL. GM sends you a message that says something like "we don't think you are ready for pro hockey. We are returning you to your junior franchise to be a leader. We would like to see you earn "x" number of XP points over the season in order to earn a contract." I probably would tank camp just to get sent back to my favourite WHL team. Allow the CHL teams to trade you as well. NHL GM stays in touch with a monthly update on expectations.

Would like the request a trade option. I don't think it should be a garauntee you will get traded but allow to ask and sometimes the computer would make a trade. At least it would put you on the block. I think more interaction like some BAP modes in other games (I really don't want to name a competitors product here, even for a sport EA doesn't have a product in).

Be able to play as the whole team like you can in Fifa.

I Also want to have the option to play a year in the CHL BEFORE the draft. Just have the option the play a year with the Whalers or Spitfires to try and prove your worth a second look.

Be able to actively participate in contract negotiations. I'm only in year 2, so I don't know if this is in, but it seems like if I'm really good, I should be able to hold out or negotiate for more money.

Have "rivals" from other teams that don't like you etc.

The other players should be able to fight. It's really dumb that only your player can start fights.

ahh, yes. i forgot about the CHL stuff. that's what i thought they were doing this year and then they just let you play the memorial cup game. to add on that idea, you should be able to play your way onto the world junior team for your country, as well as play towards the memorial cup. once you make the NHL, you should be able to be chosen for your olympic team on olympic years, and if your team misses the playoffs you should be able to participate in the world championships.

for the trades as well, which i forgot to mention, you should be able to ask for no trade clauses/movement clause with your contract along with being able to ask for a trade. if you're a team captain or assistant, in the offseason you should be able to maybe nudge the team into signing a free agent that you think would be "good for the team"

and the amount of times i hit people from behind and fight in the last 5 minutes, i should be SUSPENDED! lets be serious, i'm a repeat offender and if i get suspended a couple games here and there, maybe i'll learn a lesson

2. Make the mode more RPG style, with training and practice as ways of improving your attributes.

Sometimes I look away or take a bathroom break when my pro goes to the bench.

Then when I come back, he's back on the ice and paralyzed at the faceoff circle while the play goes on!

There should be an option you can turn on/off to have the game automatically pause when your pro gets back on the ice.

No Kidding. this would be great, and use a regular 2D pic for your player in EASHL games. Hell, Tiger 09 (I think) had this. NHL Devs are lame, but atleast they allowed custom jerseys in EASHL. 1 thing I wanted after playing NHL 10.

or make it so you have to put yourself and your line on the ice. they could very easily add something to the menu.

yes, and for the record, your avatar pic of that mask is a perfect example of what i was saying you should be able to design for your BAP goalie.

-Fix the fact that if you're a 3rd liner/5th or 6th defensemen you some how manage to start EVERY game.

I would recommend the EA NHL team take a gander at the My Player mode in NBA 2k11 and use that as kind of a brain storming point. Be A Pro in the NHL franchise needs to be fleshed out, it needs to be living with personality. Yes, thank you for the CHL (let us be able to start a career in the CHL, not during the playoffs). Press conferences when you become a pro, training drills, in between interviews. This mode needs to become filled with RPG style elements.

-Perhaps work towards the goal of trying to earn a sport on your nation's olympic team
-Be able to request a trade
-Computers need to fight computers every once and a while.
-Create some purpose to the cash you make in a career, buy off season training programs/camps
