Need for Speed Racing Games

im not complaining about anything here but all im saying is that i played shift on my ps3 and I hav grand turismo 5 aswell and ive noticed that they are alike wid the same kind of concept and same cars except that Shift had put in cars like skylines mazda and whatever but when i played both games they both felt the same... who agrees???

Well Shift is suppose to be somewhat of a driving simulator while still retaining that arcade feel. To me it's just a racing sim for the younger crowd, but with a steeper learning curve and without the seriousness that gran turismo has.

IMO I really wish the NFS series didn't have to go this route. If I wanted to play a driving sim, I would just wait for GT5 or play Forza in the mean time. I do applaud EA for at least making an effort with Shift compared to some of their earlier games, but leave it to the big dogs to make a proper driving sim.

EA really needs to keep themselves grounded because lately they've been jumping into all the latest fads and it's confusing for some of us fans who've been with them since the beginning. They should just stick with what they do best, or what they did best, and make a racing game unique to anything out there.

Just wanted to add, when it comes to the most Skylines in one game, GT wins hands down.

yer i see what you mean i to wish that NFS didn't have to take it from street racing to what there doing now but who listens to a couple of fans?? EA wont because they just do what they want and still get the money from us buying thier games and its really unfair like i wish that underground would come back in a new game because i liked doing up street cars not like now where you buy a Lamborghini and do it up and everything and when you drive it you cant really hear the difference but now i just play underground 2 still because undercover dosent suit my style of street racing and all the different parts arent very good (like the spoilers and hood)

I'm assuming you started with Underground. Poor child, you missed out on some of the best games in nfs history. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the Underground series. I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy U1 and U2 when they first came out. But I prefer the earlier games.

Anyway, I think the reason why EA decided to go all Gran Turismoish is because of their success. Good game, but GT is my racing sim of choice. Yes I'm a big fan of GT.

Nothing wrong with competition. It's just that when I want to play a serious racing sim, I rely on GT. When I'm in the mood for a fun arcade style racing game, I look for NFS. Now that both of my favorite racing series are basically doing the same thing, what am I supposed to do for an arcade style game? Well first you remember that NFS isn't GT and that it may very well not stick to track based racing every year. And then you remember that there are older NFS games that you can always give a twirl. Like Most Wanted or U2. Hopefully you can play them still.

Already looking forward to their next game. I'm a bit anxious about what the next one will be, probably end up buying it regardless.

oi i have played carbon, most wanted, undercover and shift aswell not only underground ok?? and you may think they are the best games in history but i dont i think so after carbon stuffed changed in need for speed and i dont like that and yer GT is a good game ive had only played 4 and 5 but it i can tell that its stll a good game..

LDLCK, you must have misread my earlier post. I didn't say that you only played Underground, I assumed you STARTED with Underground based on your post and your other threads. meaning you didn't play the earlier games from the 90's. Most Wanted, Carbon, Undercover, and Shift came after U1 and U2. And it's cool if you don't like the older games or the newer, it's your opinion. I was merely asserting my own opinion too.

Anyway, even if you didn't like Shift, there's always hope for the next game. *crosses fingers*

ohh sorry i must of had read your post wrong *slaps himself on the head* but i have played be for underground but i dont remember what game it was though but anyways sorry if i went off at you mate..

and yeah fingers crossed!! i hope the nexted game is more realistic, better graphics, more cars and most of all like i hope its like the Underground series but even more better! but even if EA dosent make a game like the underground series i just hope its better than Undercover!!
