Will elements of Battlefield bleed into DICE's work on the new Medal of Honor? "I think it would be hard to not have anything feed in," answers Bach, "But then again we're not striving to make a new Battlefield – the goal is to make a completely new IP and make sure we get the best possible multiplayer experience for that IP. I've been play-testing it – and it really is good. We're using the Frostbite engine and it's amazing to see how it can build a completely different experience."

I tried to search the forum, but I couldn't find anything when I searched for "Frostbite". So I hope this haven't been confirmed before.

as long as MP is good... I'll buy the game... even preorder it if they might have a beta like you are doing with BFBC2

Different engines for SP and MP? I'm not sure how game engines work but would that mean that they would look different from each other? I'm just afraid that the MP component will feel like a reskinned BFBC2 rather than MoH.

Since they're working separately yes both games might differ a lot.

UT3 modified for and from Airborne version, blocked for editing or any kind of modification;
and at the other side:
Frostbite, a engine that we know nothing, but from the news out there, no moding tools, no Ded Servers and lil bugged in the consoles.
And for the worst part, DirectX, so expect a very hardware demanding game.

Hope I wrong.

Hmmm... We'll see how this works out. I just hope the game has the same look, control, and feel in both single and multiplayer.

Ugh, UE3...why? PLEASE don't have it be all low-res like Airborne, like a port. And AA. PLEASE give us some AA. I know UE3 uses deferred lighting which isn't good for AA, but I know it CAN and HAS been done. I really don't want to see jaggies all over my screen because it ends up being a console port designed to run at sub-720p resolutions and has issues running on PC hardware.

But, yeah, seriously, about that anti-aliasing...it's needed.

A good console game =/= a good PC game. Keep that in mind.

If the sp and mp are too different, that would be bad. I would like to play this game with consistent graphics all around, not with a battlefield looking multiplayer and an airborne looking sp

UE3 isn't friendly with anti-aliasing, or the technique that is used to remove the jagged edges that can appear on objects in games that aren't straight, such as curved objects or objects on a diagonal. Also, at least in my experience anyway, UE3 ends up with cheap feeling games a lot of the time, with low-res textures and an inconsistent frame-rate. I associate it mostly with console titles too, ending up with console coded sloppy seconds over here on the PC side of the fence, adding even more to the sloppy feel of the game.

Hope they use UE3 right though, and have it feel right.

i hated that about Airborne. If you play it on a big TV like i do, it looks awful. I think that was just airborne though, because UT3 didn't have jagged edges like airborne did. Also, UE3 seems to take a while to load textures, especially on guns. On the other hand, metal looks amazing with the engine.

This is not good news. AMericas Army went to that engine and it was terrible. The game felt cheap and sloppy. I do not like the feel of the BF series of games, so this is not looking good for me to buy. i will wait and see how the demo is though, before I make a desision.
