Its out now
Mod Edit: Unofficial info...
It is due to be out overnight tonight (~2am PT). The major thrust of the changes is to get more goal-scoring variation and loosen up goal scoring a bit. There will be more variety in CPU goalie positioning as well as a bunch of other tweaks to how they position, how fast they can move and accelerate, rebound control, screen effects, reaction speeds, and more.
For online the duration of the post-whistle time has been reduced, and a few gameplay exploits have been reduced.
For offline play once you have the update it will be applied automatically if you still have the Tuning Set option set to Latest (which is the default). Otherwise you can set it to Latest or V1.03. If don't like the changes or prefer to finish your current Dynasties/Be A Pro with a previous tuning version you can also change it (under Gameplay Settings/General). V1.02 is what you'd be using right now if you have the previous update and are set to Latest.
For online play everyone uses the latest tuning update.
There are quite a few changes involved in this update so we'll be watching closely to see how things play out and make any adjustments that are necessary.
More detailed notes on the changes should be posted on the NHL forums/blogs tomorrow. I'll make sure they end up here too.

I rather would take a patch that would finally allow me to play normal online team play games against players worldwide but this time I have to be satisfied for tuner setup.
I don't have high expectation: the amount of issues NHL 10 has is a constant: When you finally get 1 fixed, another will break down. It's like my Nissan Sunny.

It doesnt seem like they fixed any issues really (otp). You can still LB like crazy with no penalty, hit people after the whistles non stop with basically no penalty, big rebounds off weak shots and the cpu still seems super human when it comes to passing, picking up loose pucks and speed.
EDIT- it looks like they fixed that curve shot everyone was complaining about. I tried it (the one just over the middle of the ice where you shoot top right) and it wouldn't go in. however, the way they fixed was to make your player not shoot it at that corner anymore. So, when I aim top right, now my player shoot middle/slightly left. i think that is kind of a weak solution because now the puck is not going where you are aiming it.

Well that is too bad. It seems like most of the update was applied towards how the cpu goalies play, and not where the community has been asking. As far as Jason making sure the notes on the changes end up on the forums, can you please also add a list of what ALL the attributes and what they do, like we all have been asking for? Thanks.

I don't think that is going to be done anytime soon. Though what's wrong with this post?

What's wrong with that post is how official is that?
Also we, the community, were told that every attribute would mean something for our online guys. Yet we still have endurance and durability? Yet they took out def/off awareness.... which actually did something.
Also no goalie info has been released, which according to that nothing has been changed. I know it says he hasn't gone through the goalie stuff but where are the devs at, to let us know officially what's what?

Well, obviously this is something that's been asked for for a long time now, and I really have no answers as to why they never did a blog or something about it. For now, that post is all we have to go on.
Maybe they will include attribute info in the NHL 11 manual...
But anyway, let's keep this on topic about the new tuner update.

I played one game of OTP. It feels like the passing speed was increased. It's really hard for me to say as I've been playing a lot of BAGM mode lately and my sliders are a lot slower than OTP/EASHL.
I have about 600-700 EASHL/OTP games played. As of right now, nothing is extremely noticeable. Some people are saying the agility seems to be increased, it almost feels like the attribute effect slider was bumped.
I'll have to play some more and just ask what the guys in OTP think.

Could you elaborate on this?
I can do this now, but the lag is killing me when I play club games against people overseas.

MD, I think he means the same thing as you. He can play OTP games but if they are vs "the Rest of the World" they lag to the point of being unplayable.
So he ( and me actually) is hopeing for that magic patch that makes it all so we no longer have to worry about who is from where when picking a matchup.

Rattlehead you know exactly what I'm talking about. We both face it everyday we play and we have had conversation about this earlier in the same thread by the way. Yeah it allows me to play, but the lag and disappearing game issues are the two things that don't "allow" us to play. Wrong word again, but this time I used it on purpose!
