Its all about the sounds. What do you think?

In my opinion some sounds are great but there are very fool and simple sounds.

For example i don t like the Mazda RX 7 and 8 engine sounds. It s very boring. I have replayed Carbon for two weeks and the engine sounds were great. The Mazdas had very exciting sounds.

In SHift i cant hear differences between the engine upgrades. I dont know why? I think it would be the most basic thing. In real life when you buy only a sport air filter you can hear it and this is the simpliest tuning. PLEASE EA do something with this.

And there is the high pitch sound of the gear box and differential. You can t hear nothing just the whining when you buy the Tier 3 upgrade. Its too loud.

I can t hear the turbo just when it starts and boosts down.

There are cars which have same engine sounds. Why? For example Nissan 200 SX, Nissan 240 SX and Nissan Silvia.
Its a mistake.

Can anyone make a mod for better engine sounds?

I feel you on this entire post. The sounds is one of the few things that have disappointed me about this game... One thing though about your post, those three Nissans, they COULD (not saying they do) all have the same engine in them. I knew plenty of people from when I was in Japan, that had those cars, and most of them had the SR20DET engine. I think with my 180SX I was the only one out of the group that had an RB26DETT twin turbo straight six...

Okay, I'm going to ask it.

WHat system are you using? By this I mean stereo, sound card, television speakers. If you speakers aren't built in then what speakers are you using? Are they little PC speakers? Are they little home theater speakers? Are they Bose speakers?

I play this game on an upper mid-range receiver, digital sound from my PS3, and speakers that'd cost me $4000 to improve upon. And I have to say, I don't notice the sound being horrendous.

I feel you....I've begin to mod engine sounds, there's still some issues to fix, it's a matter of time !

If you want some new sounds (engines, turbos, etc...), tell me what would like to hear....what improvements on which cars....

As i said the differential and gear box too loud. I can t hear the turbo.

UberSil i dont know my proper sound system. It is integrated on my Asus A3 motherboard but I played Carbon where i could hear differences between upgrades.

Yeah, the sounds are much subtler on Shift. Your first issue is that you're using a sound card and the second is your PC speakers. But there's not much that you can do about it without paying through the nose.

But I'm going to hazard here that it'll be generally considered easier to modify the equalization in the sound files via a hit and miss/experiment style mod.

that's cuz they use rotary engines. in real life they are that way. a rotary engine is very different from other engines.

this is because if you look it will say supercharger not turbocharger. a supercharger has whine (some might describe it as a whistle. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/supercharger3.htm

First: I know wankel engine, i heard it in real life and in games. I think the sound of this engine bad in shift. Some bass is missing.
