Dear NFS team,

I'm not sure you anticapatied the sher popularity that this game is destin to bring. This game is awesome and to ensure the best xbox live experince (speaking for myself and anyone who agrees) there has to be alot of changes/upgrades/more time spent on the lap time tracking. Don't get me wrond I absolutely love the game but it sucks to be top 35 on a track only to see 100 plus ppl infront of you with a 0.00.00 time. Also, there needs to be a more interactive/connected to your gamertag experience while visting your www site online. Why not make it more like (Halo and Call of Duty) were you can better track all your statistics tuhus, help the gamers increase there individual skill level. Also, for some reason when I enter a Tier 'X' subcategory and beat track times it displays my time to all my live friends which is great. However, upon finishing every race in a Tier 'X' subcatergory for some reason I have lost all my track times to my live friends. For instance, I took the whole Tier 4 "Works" and "Works vs. Supercar" while not having every event within the Tier 'X' subcategory but as soon as I had completed the last event (e.g. Race Seris IV) for some reason it shows RED instead of GREEN on all the previous events that I had recorded faster times than the rest of my live friends at. Proof of this is when I go back and 'LB' my event records and compare all of the track times (if in a series and one of them if not) I am faster than but still showing RED for that paticular event. Hope this isn't confusing, the problem is I'm just a little confused to as why. To wrap up, this game is feakin awesome and hope that gamer support will drive the online team to better perfect the LIVE and LIVE CAREER TRACK TIME COMPETITION with this anticapated update.

Because EA told their muppets to release it well before Forza so half the gaming community would actually consider buying it. If they didn't release it when they did, and waited the month or two required for proper testing, many people would have been playing Forza by then. They cashed in while they could.

Now you know why everyone hates EA.

It's too bad really, I like the game alot thats why I quit playing it right away, you can clearly see what the devs wanted to do but were not allowed to finish it.
hopefully we'll get a good patch soon.
at least I wont be burned out on it when we finally do lol.
I feel really bad for SMS, being a new studio they were trying to make a name for themselves but EA shot that idea down.....

to SMS if by some unlikely event you happen to read this, you guys rock! change publishers ASAP!

Im not sure if this has been mentioned before to the developers, but I have a few suggestions:
1) Open up pit lane!!! For a sim, you should be able to come into pit lane to make adjustments during a race.
2) Lose the aggession style side of the game completely. In a real race, you'd be red flagged for even bumping another driver. It's very irritating when you're in a ten lap race and someone knocks you into left field.
3) The Gravel and Grass portions off the sides of the tracks are not realistic enough. For instance, in real life at many tracks especially say Laguna Seca, if you go too far off the side of the track, you have to be pulled out.
A suggestion for a fix would be that you have to reset your car if you go too far off track. Right now, if Im playing online, people fly off the track and fly right back on without losing any track position or any real noticable speed.
4) Expanding on point 1 and 2 , there are some penalties for going off track, but make someone come in and serve a stop and go at pit lane.
5) Add letters to the vinyl mix, also you should be able to adjust the Manufacturer vinyls bigger than what they came, so if you want a giant BBS on the side of your car , and change the color, you cant at this point.
6) Being an American Lemans fan, I think that there should be more tracks that are realistic. Tracks such as Sebring, Road Atlanta (Petit Lemans), The 24 hour Lemans track, Salt Lake City, Long Beach Road Coarse.
7) 24 Laps at most? That's not a real endurance race. Why not have a real 4, 6, 10 hour or longer race. This game, being the direct rip off of GT1 from the PS1 days, even that game had a 24 hour race, a lot of races were a true 2 hours long.
Why not have multi-tier races, online at least. Make it so you can designate a number of racers per tier for a true multi level race. This would give a different level of difficulty for Tier 4 drivers to have to go through "traffic" of lower tier car drivers.
What's even the remotest chance of adding in the racing flags; Ex, blue flag for being lapped and yellow flag for when people crash.
9) Many people have said this before, the crash of a car has to be waaaaay more realistic.
10) I don't understand why it is that from Tier 1-3 you can make your cars into real "Speed World Challenge" cars with works packages, but at Tier 4 cars, you just get a crappy selection of "hyper cars". Cmon, no one has ever raced a Zonda in real life on a track. Why not true race cars at tier 4, or maybe add in a Tier 5, prototype or Daytona cars.

I feel this game is what a precursor could be for NFS Shift 2. Im hoping that EA keeps with this particular segment of NFS for the true road race fan. I hated the other NFS titles that have come out lately. When the NFS series first came out, the games were about realism. My personal favorite in this game is the Corvette and the fact that the works vette looks like the ALMS GT2 Vette.

Im not sure if anyone can tell me if there is a race circuit series that the car liveries were taken from in this game. I noticed that the BMW in the add is from the ALMS team. If you look hard enough, there is the blue/white ALMS series symbol just in front of the driver door.

I do like this game, I, like many others, do not like the many glitches. Please follow up with this, Im guessing you're going to need at least two to three patches to get this game at least kind of right.

why didnt u let some1 test the game b4 releasing it?! omg! do u think that forza3 can even try to compare to the awesomeness of SHIFT? NO WAY. Regardless to the hype, once some1 test that arcade then that some1'd trhow it to the bin! n u EA woulda make ur money. Im giving u props instead of complaning ^^ but its ok just fix the supagame we have

I'm just loving my NFS even though I get beat horribly in just about every online race attempt. Whats the key? Keep your foor totally on the gas at all times?

Also, I really enjoy looking at, driving, and being this close to these georgeous race cars. Where else could I get so close to a 1.4M Veyron? Any ideas on where I can get good pics-posters of these beautiful cars?

As with a couple of other EA games I have had to remove Nero Burning utilities in order to stop NFS Shift from crashing, hope this helps.

Hi there everyone,
here's Tommy from Italy, another EA customer that has loved NFS Shift and now is starting to hate it.
First of all I'm a PS3 version owner, my favourite games are driving sim and I though that Shift could have succeded in let me pass the time until GT5 release in a cool way playing a cool driving sim.
I've played also the "originals" NFS -always on Sony Consoles- pure fun, arcade, fast and relaxing - just to spend few hours without any particular matter, "mental-free" games.
Don't care about online races - no time enough - so my impressions are "offline".
Also the Italian version suffers of all the bugs mentioned in this forum, no more but no less....
Bouncing: I succeded in going over bouncing on kit cars working hard on the Advance settings, and this could be e good point for a sim even if in some races - starting from the 3rd level - your car is perfect since...last lap...I mean, the moment you start the race your car response is effectively in line with all adjustment made (negative point, to make adjustments you have everytime the need of getting out the race, going back to cars menu, and go through all the lines until advance settings and this suck!), but during the race "something" happens. Your car starts again behaving like nothing has been done to setup, bouncing, moving, being undrivable....and this really suscks! Checking setup after the race it is exactly like I made it, but car seems not to read setup anymore after few laps.
Corvette: same problem, in the manifacturer events neither a bomb makes it move from startline....
Porsche GT in SPA: not a race, a sort of hola-hop bouncing cars party.....no way to go through this race.....
Game crash: 4 times freezed with no reason, just blocked - since now luckely with no damaged saved file - the only way to go through is to disconnect PS3 - it's not enough to try to turn it off, PS3 totally blocked.......
Controls reactions: I played with Dualshock 3 - no wheels - and to go over all oversteering problems I had to choose normal style having a low steering help (now playing is not a question of work to let your car stay on track but I can concentrate on race elements), for drift races no way exepct the easy style (guess named casual in US version).
Really hope - but I'm quite sure that this never will happen - to a feedback from EA with patches to fix all the bugs of this "Alpha" version - money seems come before customer satisfatcion, balance told tha game has to be released and they did......

Tag line? This game should have been named not Need for Speed Shift but Need for Speed Ctrl+Alt+Canc......

On PS3 slim fw 3.x game patched to 1.01

issue1: Ive played 40% of the game and today when i wanted to continue playing it starts the mae - sets up trophies and loads profile. It displays my last car bu the option i get is only to start a NEW carere!
: Issue 2: when racing my car jumps all over the track and sometimes starts flying whne braking on the asphalt on straights
: issue 3: somtimes on some tracks the game slows down to slowmotion and it gets unplayable
: issue 4: when i completed tiear 4 and get to nfs world tour it says on screen i unlocked tier 5
: issue 5: when i have upgraded the tier 3 lambo and not tuned anything and then went into advanced tuning all options where sett to extreeme values

How do you fix the problem in Tier 4. I run a track and have the fastest time and it shows one of my friends winning the track with a slower time. This is only one problem. The others are when you win a race and later come back to view your status to see that no one has a better time and the track shows that you have not raced it but you have the money and the stars??? or it shows you as the winner but shows that you have not raced the track when you did on many occasions.

Most problems are in tier 4 and NFS, love the game but some of the bugs make me want to go back to GRID.

Why are you limited on the cars you can own after you reach level 50, you should have all care avaliable .

I don't remember seeing this small bug mentioned yet. The Reventon's hood flashes dark thick lines around the edge during replays. Doesn't look as bad if you paint the hood matte black.

Well I've managed to get SHIFT working at long last on Windows 7 Home Edition x64.

As I suspected it *was* an issue with PhysX for me and the workaround I've posted here fixed it for me:

It may not help everyone but if the game is crashing for you only when starting a race (i.e. the game loads to the main menu OK) *and* you're running a 64-bit version of Windows with the latest PhysX (v9.09.0914) drivers installed then it might help you.
