Unfortunately, changing your FOV is not a straightforward option setting in the game. To change you FOV you will have to navigate to the BFBC2 folder under your My Documents folder and edit the "Settings.ini" file. You should see a default setting for the FOV, which would read "FOV = 55". Make sure the game isn't running when you change this setting.

I changed mine to 65 which seems like more of a natural PC FOV, but you're free to change it to *almost* whatever you like (there is a limit to prevent cheating in Multiplayer).

While you're editing the FOV I highly recommend changing the game's audio quality to "High". NOTE: If changing the audio to high creates a drop in performance you will have to go back and change it to whatever the previous setting was by editing the settings.ini file.

Can you give us an idea of how high is too high?

If we know a hard limit, then we can make sure to stay below it so we don't have to fiddle with it 10 times to figure it out.

Hearing this from you is priceless . I had heard of altered FOV but worried of a BAN. Thanks zerk16, your Golden.

I also noticed there are a bunch of settings in the other .ini file that are labelled with something like "flipY scheme1" or something. What do these do? Do they allow us to perhaps invert the yaw on our joysticks? As of right now all joysticks have reversed yaw.

Didn't they say that editing your FOV was a standard PC feature they were supporting, and yet it's not even in the options menu? And why can't we edit the audio quality from the options menu, for that matter?

I was pretty excited about this game, but between not being able to play it online at all due to connection issues, the random crashes, the buggy scripting in single-player which makes me restart the missions half the time, the totally useless performance-sapping DirectX 10 code path, and the weird mouse lag that every single * console port has these days, I'm now disappointed. Thanks for the $60 5-hour single-player-only game, EA, I really appreciate it. What's the best lubricant I can use for ramming the DVD case up my *? My tears? My blood?

As in how wide your field of view is. In the PC walkthrough video they mention a setting of 200 will not work as it would allow cheating in multiplayer. Which I do believe 200 is a greater value than irl Human FOV assuming this setting is working in degrees. Which is why the pre-set feels a bit tunnel visiony specially when you run straight at someone's side from a distance to knife them in the side of the head and they never see you coming.

I looked in that file and saw nothing about FOV. Not sure why mine is missing it while others have it.

Either way, is it possible to simply add in "FOV=XX" somewhere in the file and it'll pick it up?

It's at the very very very bottom of the file in mine. So if it's not there try adding it and if your game crashes, remove it.

Make sure it wasn't the "GameSettings.ini" file.

So this is definitely not causing any problems with PB for you guys? One thing to consider might be making the settings file read only to prevent it being changed too.....I may give this a shot. Good idea.

Any comparison screenshots BTW?
