i don't know exactly. i guess i just put it here that way people could only look at / respond if they actually wanted to know. as apposed to people just responding because it's the "hot topic". do you know what i mean?

i just got an ide. you know how xmen went "xmen: origins: wolverine" (never seen the movie just this always works as a good example)? well what if this became a sub game like underground and after they were all made it would come in a box set.
it would go "Need for Speed Origins: Muscle" this would be set in detroit with all sorts of muscle cars from the fifties(1933 Ford Victoria, 1933 Chevy Cabriolet, 1923 Ford T- Bucket...)

then another would be "Need for Speed Origins: Tuner" this would be placed in tokyo where all sorts of the classic tuner cars (1962 Nissan Skyline Sport, 1970 Nissan Fairlady Z, 1970 Corrola...)

then it would be "Need for Speed Origins: Exotic" it would all be set in italy with some of the most famous early exotics(1959 Porsche 356 Speedster, 1957 Ferrari 250 GT, 1958 BMW 507...)

what do you think?

Oughta have a Packard, don't you think? And a hot Nash. But that Studebaker is really interesting. Maybe a Kaiser would be worth checking out. But bottom line, is there really much of a market for this stuff?

in america the interest in the muscle one would be sky high. although EA actually baught something very similar, Motor city online, out a long time ago, i quess that one is more of a "re-imagining?)

and the exotic one would find a few homes with europeans, but, only those interested in classic cars, wich is sadly quite a niche market.

i doubt the tuner one would find a home, not even in japan, were modern "ricer" games such as Kaido No Detsuno, and Wangan No Detsuno (mountain no limits and highway no limits) are still "king of the jungle".

some of those very best and most desireable cars of those lists, however like the Gullwing 300sl, the Ferrari 250 Gran Turismo Olomogato, the Datsun 240-Z, the KCPG-10 "Ken and Mary" Gt-R, the Fuelie C1 corvette and fuelie 57 tri Chevy "Bel Aire" Coupe would be more than welcome at the lower end of the car list in a Classic type NFS game, maybye High Stakes 2, as a foundation for the later, and much faster exotics at the top end of the list.

Torch, the thought just occurred that if you stretched the setting to 1962 or so you could include the Corvair Monza. There may even be some club racing still going on with the Monza (or not). Of course then you would be opening it to a lot more cars, like the '61 Impala. Just a thought.

maybe we just spread it out over like from 1950's to now. like the history of NFS.at the begining of the game you would be in detroit in 1952 then at the end of the game you would be in tokyo today and your carreer just spreads all over the world. do you know what i mean?

that could be great, especially if you take a little leaf out of Porsche unleashed's book. the 50's is very rock and roll, elvis, sound, grainy Fifties esque bleached colour graphics, and youre avatar as a young man say late teens, 18 or so, and as it goes on, you get the '60s pop sound and technicolour as he goes through his 20s , the '70s with groovy funk, and that vivdness of the time as he goes into his 30s,s then have youre charachter looking more middle aged as it goes into the 80's and the new wave era with pastelised "vice city HD" styel graphics, then the 90s and 2000's, with techno music, crisp definition, and youre charachter looking quite elderly. like they did with the "evolution" mode of P:U. that could really give it a 4th layer of immersion. makle sure the cars are era perfect, but always carried on to the next one , in the showroom as well as the garage, so like , in the 50's the '57 bel aire is available in the new showroom in pristine condition, but in the '80s, its available as a rotted junker from the scrapyard. so by the end, and youre charachters death from old age, you could have a massive number of cars, especially if you give the garage room for 2 of each (one stock one hot-rodded). a life of NFS.
make each time with its own Period Perfect city as well, that reflects the era. the 1950's is rock and roll Detroit. the 60's is Swinging London, the 70's is funkadelicly groovy los angeles,. the 80s is pastel hued Miami (think vice city and youll know miami and the 80s go like ham and eggs), the 90s in techno centric reunited Berlin, and then 2000's in tuner central, tokyo.

that could be way cool.

You guys have got my vote. But it has to be available for PC, with ongoing support and car and road downloads. If you go for that big timeline, you will also have to include big changes over time in the U.S. highways. Very cool. Who's got the guts and the resources to actually put it out? Obviously not you-know-who.
