all You need to know is what each part exactly gives to your car and tune it according your driving style, thats it, keep that in mind

would like to take the time to thank bones for this thread

obviously there is two trains of thought in regards to this subject by members and that neither will be swayed from their personal choice...which is fine as we all have the right to have personal opinions...

in relation to this thread ...bones has decided to take his opinion and spend a lot of time and effort into putting forward his opinions in his own thread for the benefit of the community who share similar opinions into the tuning of cars in nfs world.

this thread has been going for a long length of time and it is very apparent of its nature from the beginning ...so to me anyone who is intentional attempting to either denigrate the op's train of thought or the work he has done in an attempt to force their own train of thought which is in direct contrast to the reason for the thread to me is kinda lame...

even though i personally haven't a clue i still respect bone's train of thought and also respect the amount of time he has put into this thread and the interaction he has conducted with the community...the same as i respect the other train of thought as well

there are enough threads supporting the other train of thought so the need to attempt to be argumentative here is not valid........

my only input into the whole tuning blah blah blah debate is this......a lot seems to be placed on a vehicles top speed...which is nice but in any race it is the overall average top speed for an entire race which is the winner not how fast you can drag in a straight line....otherwise we would all drive jet cars.....lol...damn who put that corner there...lol

cheers all

100% agree! That's what I'm doing and was actually doing before when just stuffing parts on cars over a year ago like we all did. Kinda funny how my S15 and FD turned out since they perfectly suited me since I was looking at the basic three stats and ratios, making sure it was something like 0.6ACL/0.3/HND/0.2TS. Top speed is overrated for cars which have it low anyway aka pretty much every single standard tuner.

Should save that quote and put on front page BONES420! At the end of the day, the driver always has the final say on how the machine handles, IRL and in games, but needs as much information as possible to make that decision....

.... plus going with "the norm" is boring. Hate following guides in games anyway since it makes things too easy Exception was perfect B-Spec in GT4 though.

Hi all!

I was complaining about my 135i not turning well and my friend Jose convinced me to switch the Gromlen Race Suspension the car came with into a Dawndraft Street Suspension from the performance shop. I saw an opportunity for a bit of testing in this and here are the results (2 best times out of 10 tries)...

Race suspension installed:

Mission street:

Boundary & Marina:

Car with 467 stats is not any faster than the car with 458 stats (if the parts are right). I wonder what the results would have been, if I had picked tracks with more turns?

Thanks Jussi... Its a good experiment, it should be in here..

I did a bunch of testing on my own last night.. You guys, if you have the IGC and a full set of T3 Ventura parts.. Go buy a Dodge Viper, and put all Ventura on it.. Car is freakin awsume! did the same setup on a Dodge Charger Suber B (blue juggernaught edition) and its also really good..

Give it a try if you got the parts and IGC..

Thanks for the support.. If you read through my entire guide carefully you will see all that info in there. I reinforce the fact many times that regardless of what car and parts you use, driver ability is still 90% of the game. I also state many times that my car setups are not set in stone.. They are only my recommendations. Especially the balanced setups.. They are ment to give the car a good starting point with no advatage in any one area for a driver to then tweak to their personal style. But i offer my car setups for those who just want to look up a part setup and go, instead of testing and tweaking ect..

That would be me!

I've only tried a couple of these with store parts, but I can already say that these setups make the cars quite easy to drive. I want cars that can do equally well on technical tracks and on the flat out ones. These balanced setups you provide give me just that.

Thanks!

Jussi

PS. There were some "substitute suggestions" in the text part of the first post. Something like use these tires until you get a set of these other ones. Could you make a list that would give this info in one glance? I mean parts that could be used as a substitutes while looking for the correct one.

i test the 135i with the same performance setup of this forumand also i change the suspension to a pro blue
the result the car had a lot of understeer and it was uncontrolable
also even with a full pro performance setup and the blue suspension i try many times to make the same score as you in the mission street and i could and i dont know the because i try mny times and me run was almost perfect

@BONES420 - for Mustang RTR-X, I saw that you didn't used no blue parts, nor for induction, nor for transmision. Does it realy have enough acceleration, only with the yellow parts ?

@BONES420 You seem to be missing the S14 D: Or atleast you've got "Nissan Silvia S14" written but a picture of the S15.

Hey Bones,

I have a Carrera Snowflake 2.0 on my lvl 50 driver and I liked it so much i got the Carrera S from the store. Man! Two totally different beasts. I love the sound of the snowflake but not fond at all of the store Carrera. It handles poorly also. Any advice on what to do now that I wasted 5500 boosts for a car I am seriously thinking about selling for IGC?
