Could possibly be the best card of the weekend, K1 and FEG always put on great events.
I'll take.....
Mo over Aerts for the upset
Schilt over Kyotaro
Ghita over Saki
Reem over Spong
Schilt over Mo
Ghita over Reem for the upset, however I think if Reem does happen to beat Ghita, he'll beat Schilt as well.
Ghita over Schilt
I might be going a little more with my heart than my head but Ghita definitely has the best chance of anybody not named Reem or Schilt and he doesn't get much love as being one of the very elite strikers in K1. So I'm taking Ghita as the 2010 WGP Champ.

Holy * Overeem! One fight away from being the "baddest man on the planet" in my book, no bs(coughBROCKcough). Actually sad to think about the beating Aerts is probobly about to take.
Great card and great fights. A couple of things I took from this event.
1. Peter Aerts beating Schilt IMO is one of the top 3 best fights of all time. At 40 years old he was able to beat arguably the best fighter in the sport.
2. Reem is the best all around fighter in the world.
3. Saki, Spong, Kyotaro all showed they have bright futures in K1. Regardless of giving up a lot of size they were all very competitive.
Also, after seeing Spong do so well, look for Nathan Corbett to make a run for next years WGP.
4. A sick Ghita is still a dangerous Ghita. It sucks to see him not be out there at 100%. Regardless, he still looked pretty good against Saki.

Was a great event, I got a headache and feel sleep deprived as hell, but I'm glad I stayed up. Saki I thought looked especially great, very fast, tough and technical. He was just too beat up by the time he got to Reem.
IMO, what Aerts showed last night(this morning) was that if he had put his mind to it, the dude might just have a chance of learning how to walk on water. Unbelievable.
Overall I'm really happy for Overeem. That dude is settled in, he's a beast of a hw. Really excited to see what he's going to do in his MMA career this year man. And may god have mercy on every soul that finds themselve in a cage with him.
Was awesome. I went to sleep after Aerts beat Schilt I just couldn't last any longer lol. I think it was around 5:30 am. Watched the rest of the fights when I woke up. So glad Overeem won.
When he got rocked by Spong I was a little worried but he kept his composure and finished very strong.
This event was incredible. In the 10 years just about I've watched K-1, this ranks among the top I've seen. I knew Reem would win it all, but as sentimental value goes I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy Aerts got to where he did in that GP, he made history and defied time for a bit. The drubbing of Fujimoto was a bit unnecessary I think tho.

I watched it on HDNET at 8 p.m. NOt sure if it was live, but the fights were great. Allister really looked good and Peter really showed that he has the heart of a champion.

Agreed. He has to start concentrating on MMA soley though and fighting more there. If not, I don't think he will be as great as his potential. Many 'boxers' and especially 'Kickboxers' have tried to make the transition into MMA with minimal success at best. Overeem has done the most so far out of all of them in the sport. But imo, Overeem could be epic if he decided to concentrate on it. Its really too damn bad we didn't get to see Overeem be the one to end Fedor's reign at HW, that would have been a huge spring board for him in the MMA world.
I persoanlly have felt for a while now that Overeem is the most 'skilled' MMA HW, and maybe the best. If I rank them off of their 'talent' and skill, and not off of who they have actually fought and beaten; Overeem is my #1 at HW in MMA. That said, you have to beat the man to be the man, and Overeem doesn't have too many glorious MMA fights on his resume at HW to prove much, AND he doesn't fight nearly enough.
I hope the Reem wins this whole damn K-1 thing and decides that this chapter of his life is now complete and decides to concentrate soley on MMA, he has the potential to be amazing.

He did win it. This past K-1 event was for the WGP title.
He has officially cemented himself as the best kickboxer to ever compete in MMA on a regular basis (Other than Schilt).

Cro Cop was good but even when he was in his prime in K-1 he didn't reach the level of Alistair. In terms of his record he was pretty average going 16-7 although most of his losses were to top guys Hoost, Bernardo, Hug.
His whole reasoning for going to PRIDE was because he couldn't ever get over the hump of being one of the top guys in K-1. With all that said though, he's definitely top 5 best kickboxers to compete in MMA on a regular basis.
1. Schilt
2. Overeem
3. Manhoef
4. Hunt
5. Cro Cop
However, if we're just talking best kickboxer to ever step into MMA period then there is no doubt who it is.....

Good. Maybe now he can stop F-ing around and see how far he can take his MMA career. He needs to fight more than he does (MMA wise).
