as far as I know EA Link is not supported in Vista,you could try letting all EA Link exe`s through your firewall and spyware and find out what ports it uses to communicate.

Thanks for feedback but I?m new to all this - what do you mean by not a supported chipset? Laptop sold as Vista compatable and all other apps etc run OK on it. TW07 actually runs but the ground on the courses is black. Before installing Vista TW07 ran prefectly OK on XP. I'm assuming that there are no other options available to me?

Your graphics adapter is NOT listed as a supported 3D device in your TW07 readme file. The fact that you were able to run it in XP is likely a coincidence. TW07 was designed around Win 2K/XP only and was not designed to run on Vista as Vista was released 4 months after TW07 was. TW07 is a very demanding 3D game and if your graphics adapter is not listed as a supported device, then the chances of the game workin properly are not favorable. I realize you don't like the answer, but it is the only one I have....

EA Link works fine on here, its how i got TW07, downloaded it through EA Link, i also can play battlefield2142 and need for speed carbon fine, which i got from EA Link.

I'm really cheesed off as i'm back to playing TW04!!! ,I'm not the only with problems with TW07 running on Vista there is loads of us but most don't come to the forum or know about the forum , they should of come up with a fix by now for gods sake, by the looks of things it seems there not even intrested! this is giving EA a even worse name then they have!, i don't mean to sound harsh but its the facts!

Drivers worked perfect on a Dell XPS 410 w/ NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE running Vista home premium.

Your very lucky, i used a driver cleaner before installing this driver and have tried lots of other driver, but did not work

Hey I've read all of these posts regarding the EA link version and it crashing upon startup. All of these crashes it looks like have been reported with the Nvidia chipset. Well you can now add the ATI chipset into this category of starting the game to only have it crash back out and tell you that it experienced an error that it can't tell you what it was. Here is my system...

AMD Athlon XP2800+
Radeon X1950 Pro
1 GB of PC 3700 Ram
120 GB HD


You get the picture of my system isn't a bad one it's just one that doesn't work. I didnt' have this problem in XP with the 5700 Ultra card, however I'm having it here in Vista with the new video card. I totally agree with the user talking about EA coming up with a fix for this. Very uncalled for and very dumb in my opinion.

EA link not working in Vista has nothing to do with what hardware you have,its the way Vista tries to communicate with the EA server.

I am having the same problem with my computer running vista. Where do I get this patch, and do I just install the patch or do I have to delete the old drivers?

you can get the drivers here if you have an nVidia graphic card,just run the install file and Vista will do the rest,including a reboot.

when i try to install it from the above link it says this programme is desgned to be used for vista32mb..not for my vista..whats wrong?? i dont know the problem with my vista

The only thing I can think of is that you have the vista 64 bit system installed, not the 32 bit one. It might be possible that the driver will only install on 32 bit operating systems. I think it is quite possible that if you recently bought a new system with a 64 bit processor, the operating system that came with it could also be 64 bit.

I lost hope few months ago when i got vista in my new laptop, couldn't even get the first screen to work, looks like ealink works, but then tw stops working and doesn't initialize... any new about it.. haven't played tw07 since i got it.

I am afraid EA do not have any interest in making a fix for all of us who cant get TW07 to work on Vista otherwise they would of come up with a fix by now, they probably will never come up with a fix for us and we will have to wait till TW08 to play any latest TW game!!!

Its really poor support from EA and really with the amount of people they have working for them if they cared for there customers they would have people working on a fix right now, but they don't which is really concerning.

please make a fix ea please we are begging you
