unbelievable!! this is a testimony as to why we have these forums! a cut and dry clear and concise solution to a major problem,that actually works!!! my faith in these forums has been restored!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! I was just about ready to uninstall and throw the CD in the trash. Wonderful customer service by EA not offering a patch for such a horrendous problem.

Just exactly what does this 'confidence' feature do?
I don't see any diff to my game.
I have two hacks (novice, 2 click) that are exactly equal as far as attributes, one takes all the training, but the other takes none. But, in game they play at about the same average.
Same story for 2 intermediates (3 click).
All of them have the same number of shot choices (punch, flop, etc)

Am I missing something?

not a thing
it does nothing for game play, attributes, etc

it just reminds you which holes you sucked on, and lets you practice them again

I have the same problem but with NHL 08, game play is very slow, any idea why ?

I was getting that frustrated with the slowness of this game that I was about to uninstall TW 2008.

This really works and is so simple to fix, even a techno-phobe like me could manage it!!

Your tips for fixing slow play worked to perfection .. thank you...

I am going to try the fix for the slowness. I too was ready to give up on the game. I have enjoyed the last three versions of Tiger Woods PGA tour, but 08 was a disappointment. I was beginning to think perhaps I was sold a poor version of the orginal. Guess it is just game developers who are pushed to get a product out before it is ready.

Just another kudo for the solution. It took me a long time to find it because I thought it was a Windows 7 problem. The slowdown was concurrent with an upgrade to Win 7. Thankfully, you all were here to save me. This is *after* I loaded a bios hack to turn on virtualization to allow Windows XP mode that I now don't seem to need. Ha!

Anyway, it works great on Windows 7. Enjoy your 2-year-old game. I am.

^^^ Myself. Best gaming fix I've had in ages.

I used to have to wait a full 5 seconds between each shot. I can now finish 18 holes in half the time and am enjoying the game more than ever.
