I like the hire/fire staff. I dont like on 09, the only way to win the cup with the whole team is Dynasty. Playoff mode sounds sweet. Possibly the CHL/NCAA etc?

I hope, but I think EA might implement these leagues in the future

Green Day rocks! They have good music in my opinion. Lets stay on topic though.

So, yeah, Green Day played a song on Saturday Night Live last weekend, not sure if it was a rerun but it sounded just about every damn song they ever made. I was falling asleep, had my head turned away from the TV in a semi-coma and that exact thought came to my tired brain : "who's that new Green Day clone again ?" ... I turn my head as Billy starts to sing - what a surprise. He kept singing about knowing the enemy, that should be the title I'm sure.
I dunno how anyone can be a HUGE fan of such generic and uninspired music. They've been repeating themselves for about 20 years now. It's in no way bad or maddening music, just ... so, so average.
Keep in mind Dookie was playing non-stop in my sound system back when it came out, I must have been 12 then.
I think I've genuinely liked 2 of their songs since Dookie...

Please carry this conversation via Private Message. The song is Know Your Enemy and it sounds nothing like there other songs.

Right ... 3 or 4 power chords, monotonous melody, Tre's signature usual drumming patterns... never heard that in a Green Day album.
I don't dislike them, I just haven't found them interesting and relevant in any way for at least ten years. I guess that being able to learn on the guitar and sing any one of their songs in about 5 minutes by ear, no tabs, will do that to anyone. I really mean no disrespect, they're a decent band.
Back on topic, though, the new info seems genuine and promising. Worried about the board play, like some of you, but I'm sure it'll turn out OK and it'll add a lot to the game.
They still haven't answered about the most pressing issue; checking animations. Being forced to get 99 on discipline just because I choose to play a power forward or a defensive defenceman is ridiculous. Toning down or eliminating altogether cross-checking penalties could resolve this issue I guess, but the incessant flow of bad ref calls just has to stop forever. The 1.02 experiment has tanked, they admitted to it ! Now GO EA Vancouver, make the game we all want : glitch-free !!!

Likewise, hopefully the details will emerge in a matter of weeks. On the topic of NHL info I'm wondering how they've balanced out the player types in terms of EASHL play. The base starting stats for some of the 'classes' like power forward could use some tweaking, others could use a bit of lessening.

Personally, I think the coaching tips in 09 were useless and sometimes inaccurate when summarizing gameplay.

LOL yeah, how many times did I see "You have to be better in the faceoff circle" when I was playing a 99 faceoffs grinder with about 21/8 in faceoff wins every time o-O
OR "you were on the ice for a goal against" after a 5-1 win with me being +3 ...
OR "Solid goaltending" ... GEE REALLY ? thanks for the tip, coach !
OR "have to get things going" ... insightful little man, you.

They still help newcomers to the series, though, which is the reason they're there.

They steer the learning process of the newcomers in the wrong direction.
