Wow. I own a PS3 and 360. And people are somehow shocked and dismayed the PS3 version is lesser than 360?
Lets be realistic here, nearly all all multiplatform games on PS3 are gimped in some way. People really need to put it into perspective and appreciate that at least the common issues of framerate, lower resolution screen and/or textures quality are on par with the 360. The missing damage modelling as the only limitation should be praised if anything.
Also bugs? Well yes, what console game doesnt get a bug fix in the first few weeks? - steady on.

Theres 2 scenarios to this
1) It a glitch and just needs a patch (hope rather than fact)
2) The PS3 version really does'nt have a damage model like the 360 (more likely)
I don't see why #2 is any more likely. EA intentionally went on the record to call out the PS3's biggest racing game on damage models and I just find it hard to swallow they did it while knowing they had NO damage modelling on the very same system. If this is the case however, I do think refunds should be offered as this was never part of the deal. Damage modelling was confirmed to be in at a very early stage and no differences between the systems was ever indicated.
There are many instances in the past where significant bugs made their way into a production piece of software, many more game breaking than this. Hell, like I said earlier, I didn't even notice the lack of damage for days of playing. Now that I do, it really annoys me tho
I like many others would like an official statement regarding the product EA sooner rather than later.
This seems fair. I mean either way, EA should confirm that either the above scenario 1 or 2 is how it is, and what is or is not going to be done about it.

I mean if the game were exclusive to Xbox that would be one thing, but this is an embarassment to release a game on PS3 with essentially NO damage modelling after suggesting that the bread-and-butter PS3 racing game has 'cheating' damage modelling...
see, you guys don't get it. shift does have better damage than GT5 BECAUSE GT5 IS NOT OUT. it's very easy for them to say things about something that doesn't exist. they were probably referring to GT5P, which does not have damage..which again makes their's automatically better. better, not good.
all i can say is
I TOLD YOU SO! i told you they would pull the same stunts, the same marketing, the same bs, and then release the same half assed product. AGAIN.

The 360/PC version of Shift have better damage than what GT5 showed off at GamesCom, that could change seeing as the game isn't released. Currently the PS3 version of Shift has the same damage that GT5 showed off. Nothing gets dented only parts come off, no deformation.
Pause at 40sec and 52sec to see diffrences. PS3 will not get dented, only scratched.

The collisions in GT5P is a joke. If you bump into a car, you hardly notice an impact, nor hear any loud crashing sounds, unless you smash into them hard from behind. Try to spin out another car in GT5P, and you will see it react unrealistically. So they need to do a lot of changes if they want to improve crashing with other cars. I'm not saying Shift is great in this department (a damaged car drives just as fine and can never be totaled), but the sense of impact and crashes are the best I've seen in a game.
It needs to be made apparent that there is an obvious difference in the game. Then maybe they might do something about it. I don't find it fair that I paid full price for a lesser version of the game.
