While I did vote for both options, I probably would have to pick turn based if I had to choose. Someone stated they detested readyplay in last 3-4 yrs of TW/PC because of the crashes and lag, but you also get that if you have reactions, comments, etc, set different than the other guy or gal. But again, I really enjoy seeing the person's avatar/player on the course...not some little picture and name and an arc of thier shot.

Turn based here. Sure it takes longer, but I'm more into this game as a sim than a game. To "sim" a round of golf, there has to be some interaction with your playing partners. If you played in a group and did not interact with them throughout the round...well, that would just not be social.

Thank you for sticking it Tim, but when you want to "get out the vote", you got to have something that stands out....
You know, a flashing banner or something, sounds corny but I would like to see thousands of votes cast! Wouldn't EA?

Unfortunately, sticking the thread is about the extent of what I am able to do to increase visibility....the rest is up to Greg and EA....

I personally prefer multi-player mode. There are some in the old PC versions that preferred ready play but I really think that was a very small number of gamers, I used to play quite a bit and very rarely ran into a ready play user. But.....you probably need to support both because of that.

While many people like turn-based multi-player here, I think it would be foolish to abandon the simultaneous system.
I am concerned that new players to TWO will be turned off if they are forced to play 18 holes and it takes 2 hours to do so. That probably won't sound like a whole lot of fun for them.
Personally, when I am playing with people I know . . I prefer playing turn-based. However, if I just join a pick-up game, I really don't care to sit there and wait for people to shoot.

I think that both camps have their points depending on time, etc. For that reason I voted for both options, however I really prefer a turn-based game. I usually have the time to devote to the game and I don't really like shot clocks. I usually set aside time to play. If family business, etc. would interfere with the game I don't log in to play.
Just wish that the involuntary disconnects were fewer. This morning I manages to play 2 complete 18 hole rounds, however it was 4:00 AM, shot clock was turned off and everything went pretty smooth. Both players from Germany, and the conversation was a bit limited, but still enjoyable. In previous versions (07 & 0 I met some really nice folks from all over the globe that I would never have without the series. I think it's a good thing to play with people and socialize. It broadens your horizons and gives you a different outlook. The turn-based game is great for the social aspect of the game, even if you don't get to chat a lot. When I am playing in a really good foursome the time seems too short sometimes.

Prefer Both Options: When playing with friends or people that are chatting during play, turn-based has a much better feel. If I play a pickup multiplayer game and there is no chatting between players, simultaneous play becomes pretty much a singles game with a shared scorecard. It does have the ability to provide a faster round, but it does not have the feel of true multi-player round. Another item I experinced today was playing multi-player with a person taking about double the shots as me. It gets a little boring sitting and watching someone take shots. While the wait time is proably the same with turnbased play, it is probably chopped up into smaller wait windows.

i would prefer the Turn-Based Multiplayer mode but voted for "both options" - simply because i think, to each it's own. there's no need to take something away from someone if its possible to give people a choice how to they wanna play their games.
yes, personally i am a fan of the turn.based.mode out of the same reasons that have been already posted here by many. for me it's more about playin WITH each other and not AGAINST each other, the social part of playing is the important one to me, not the competitive one. but again, to each its own. no need to force others to like what i do and vice versa.
so, both options pls. tyvm

At this stage in the beta you cant call this a multi-player game it's as many others are saying it's just like playing alone,i still find this version so very boring so i may have to wait a long tine before i pay anything to play this game(AS IT IS AT THIS TIME)but i along with others will just live in hope that EA get it right one day.
Before some of you start saying give it a chance and don't be so negative, this forum is to state what a person think,s of the game and what many would like to see in it.

One of the things that has stricken me about this form of TB MP is that it doesn't seem to promote chat between players nearly as much as it did in previous versions. I know that some folks are just reticent by nature ( I'm a little shy, myself ), but having players represented by moving , golfing avy's did seem to go a long way towards accommodating chat between players.
I don't know if it's because of the nature of the general chat box, which includes chat from all over the course, or the lack of avatars. I think folks would mind this version a little less if chat was restricted to the group on the hole, and not everyone else on the course.
Any thoughts per this?

Isn't there a way to limit chat and arcs to the MP group only? I thought there was at least one of these options in the prior MP interface....
