They will give us Ferraris

First they will sell a bunch of them for xbox360 and after earning some K's they'll release a version for PC and PS3 its just a big waste of hardwork to only release it to the 360..

Bought 3 copies of Shift, 2 PS3, one PC...one copy was a gift. In part to support the genre and SMS...I'll file this under no good deed goes unpunished

If we get only the Ferraris and no new races in career .. then I'm okay with you EA

instead of continuing to improve a game that still has a lot of bugs you do this EA seriously...

That's another point. They're hiding it too. In the podcast, on that page, on facebook, and probably more places, there is no mention that it's XB360 exclusive.

Bugs? Did you install patch 1.02? ^^

Yes there are a few but nothing special...
-no sound in Drift (restart the match)
-slide under the cars xD
-some tight corners make the AI cars do side flips

... the game is fine

Should we take http://www.vgchartz.com/games/index.php?name=need+for+speed+shift (as a rough estimate of sold copies) we may think that they want to boost X360 sells, so that they can earn more by convincing who still doesn't have the game to buy it + the DLC. Probably we'll never learn if Microsoft payed to have an exclusive or what, let's hope to hear something from EA (or, better, from SMS) about it.

Also, to everyone freaking out, chill. Apparently, there's going to be some more DLC for all three platforms next month or so, according to the official GAF thread on the game.

Plus, it's nice to see Ferrari back in NFS. Think about it, we're probably going to see Ferraris in future NFS titles- apparently, NFS Shift 2 is in the works and should be released within the next year or so, alongside World Online and the Criterion Games title. Everybody will get their Ferraris eventually in the future.

Can somebody from EA confirm this?

I have Shift for PC and the news that the Ferrari dlc is only for xbox 360 is bad news.... as everyone has already stated. A few points:

1) it is possible that the exclusive is really an exclusive period of time, not forever. This happens frequently

2) it would be good if they explain why this decision was made. I doubt Microsoft bought this dlc--it's not like dlc for NFS is going to sell lots of consoles for them

3) Could it be that SMS is planning on releasing a pc oriented title (the Ferrari Project they were working on earlier) and that is why no PC version for this dlc? And no PS3 version because of other agreements with Sony? Wishful thinking perhaps for us PC owners.

Listen everyone, we're all big fans of Ferrari so we're disappointed that it's not going to be available on PS3 or PC too...

We would love to provide the Ferrari Racing Series across all platforms. However it is only available on Xbox 360 as a result of existing Ferrari licensing agreements beyond the control of Need for Speed. Don't worry though because we’ve got something really cool coming in March.

Thanks for the update Drew. Just want to get confmation though (for a lot of people I'm sure!) that the content coming in March will include PC content?

Just spoke with Drew for a moment. Unfortunately there's currently no word about platform availability for the March project. I'll keep you posted.

So Ferraris will never be in a NFS for any system other than XB360? Ever? This is definitely the work of microsoft bribery.

I hope that the something really cool isn't just three or four events. If it's a consolation to PC and PS3 owners, it has got to be good enough to compare to a pack of 10 Ferraris in NFS for the first time in 8 years, plus a couple events. The only way in my mind that it could compare is if it had a Shelby Cobra in it. It's possible now that NFS also has the first open-top convertable in 8 years. (I think).

Oh well, thanks for the news update Drew. At least I won't be having more dreams about Ferraris in Shift.
