I am running a very similar setup to all you guys, with the i7 920, 6gb of corsair 88824 ram, but I have an nvidia 9800 gtx ocx + card and have the black flickering as well. It happens most to me when I'm in the trees, crouching behind a bush or a rock.

I turned down shadows to low and it seemed to help the problem a lot. I still get it on occasion, but not nearly as much as before, maybe try that.

same issue even after a reinstall of the OS/Game(retail)

this started after that patch back in March or April(don't remember)

Specs:
Win 7 x64
i7 920 @stock
6GB DDR3 1600
2x GTX275

when this first started I only had 1 GTX275 and I had the issue on that card. I then bought a second card and it still does it. I used every driver version since Dec to present and I get the flashing black screen.

I got this same problem. It seems odd that there are soooo many posts to say that this is happening... but I have only seen one suggested way to fix this (Turning Bloom off). I have not tried it yet but will do later.

Just to confirm i have the same issue. My screen goes black, however I am still able to see the colored markers and player names... just no textures at all.

I was able to solve my problem with the new patch causing the game to a white screen with multiplayer on PC. Upon the initial login to any server my game would go to a white screen then black. I could here the sounds of the game just fine. Eventually it would go back to the desktop, if I waited long enough. I found an article that that explain about the settings.ini file. I went and set the DirectX setting to 10. The NVidia cards in my computer are 2 x 275 in SLI mode. The 275 was only meant to be a DirectX 10 card. So, I set it to 10 and then I ran a game for more than 30 minutes with no crashes. The PC controls IMO are much better than 360 for Bad Company 2.

Antec 850 P/S
Intel i7 920 overclocked to 3.1 GHz
2 x EVGA 275 factory overclocked SLI with 3D enabled glasses
12 GB memory
Windows 7 64 bit
Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium in 7.1 audio

I have nVidia 9600... I also have seen the black flashing, and it gets really annoying. Sometimes the screen will stay black for a few seconds at a time.

This is the same issue, I also have experienced it. I have an nVidia 9600 GT...It's good, but not the best in the world or anything. I play on just about maxed out specs for most of my games.

Any fixes?
