I will leave EA not because they totally messed up owc, not because they totally messed up ranked, not because of any other faults or exploits with the game or even faults with fNR4...

BUT BECAUSE THEY DONT GIVE A SH*T ABOUT YOU ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY.

They allow boosters to keep boosting, they allow champs to keep belt passing or bum hunting... they don't care what happens with online, they don't care who cheats they dont do anything... this is FACT! Many of us from FNR4 have seen it first hand.

I have already seen a renowned booster from FNR4 who boosted to rank 1 already getting busy on FNC... its just a matter of time before he gets his boosting network up and running again and no matter how much EA were notified, no matter how many people complained, no matter how much time and effort everyone put in to try and get rid of them, all EA did was ignore it and turn a blind eye... now those same boosters will be at it in FNC.

All the problems with belts and bum hunting or passing it between accounts are still here, only now you have to have low rated boxer to even get a shot... EA do not fix problems, they make them worse but who cares, as long they got your money! EA sat back for months and watched as thousands of consumers were getting cheated out of title shots and did nothing. They been taking the absolute Pi$$ out of us because they know if you want to play a boxing game you got no where else to go...

Even the gamers and the casuals will leave if there is another option, me included.

Hope it's true just for competitions sake.

Look what happened when Pro Evolution soccer started competing in the market and hurting sales of FIFA. EA made sure they actually improved the game hugely to get back their market share.

If they make a true boxing simulation with a indepth CAB, who cares if they dont have real fighters.

2K baseball is good but has it's flaws but they make the BIGS series which I like also for anyone who can't be bothered to SIM.

2K seem to learn from mistakes and are on the up as a company, so this game could do very well for them if they listen to what fans want and learn from EA's mistakes.

I would definately give the game a chance if it gets made.

I hope 2K realize a lot of people would probably do the same from the sound of things. I'm not saying they would get away with making a sh*t game, but I don't think it'll be very hard getting people to jump ship atm, as opposed to if they tried to muscle in on a series like fifa.

Also the rosters won't be a big as problem as everyone thinks, EA would have to shell out major $$$$$$ to get exclusive contracts, I don't think any of the boxers or boxers estates do have permanent exclusive contracts with EA either but I could be wrong.

Just look at how many boxers from past Fight Night rosters who don't return and stuff so it's obvious they don't have permanent contracts.

2K could hoover them up, they probably wouldn't be able to get as many GOATS or recognised boxers in the first game but I bet they could surprise people and put out a half decent roster.

Hell I would even be happy with another Ippo game lol.

Serious? That's your excuse? Really?..... It's a great game and fun. Bottom line you came on here cause your crap at the game!
But hey if you don't like it and believe you can do better, send EA 2-3 million and let's see what you can come up with!

Sad but true..businesses these days focus too much on greed and not customer experience.. Upper management in these business don't realize that customer loyalty will be far more beneficial in the long run than just trying to squeeze every penny out of a person that they can. EA may not get another opportunity to satisfy their online boxing fans if 2K is smart (like they were with the nba2k series).

I just saw this thread. All I can say is AWESOME!!! Bring in the competition!!!!!!!! The consumer definitely needs it!

I really want 2K and Visual Concepts to make a boxing game. I'd pick it up. As with any great game it could take a few tries. I think they would have good stuff, but lack some of FNC. They would learn from mistakes and have a great game. I used to love NBA Live but 2K10 blew me away. Just having the option to download Jordan, Sprewell, Van Horn. Name someody.
They would pay atttention to small things, details.
I dont know what boxers they could get as that seems to be a sticking point, but w/ the CAP system they have you could accurately make any boxer.
I like FNChampion. I'm a FN series fan. Surprised me. I still want to move a little better, and not be drawn towards my opponent when I put my guard up.

I happen to like Champion. I think it's a pretty good game and better than R4 IMO. Yes, it has some flaws, but really, what game doesn't? As good as NBA 2K11 is, there are flaws that you can pick apart if you choose to do so. No game is perfect.

As far as an 2K/HBO boxing game, I would love it as a boxing fan. We need competition, that's what bring out the best in video games.....competition!

One thing that scares me about this though is that the info is on wikipedia. Wikipedia is a public forum and anyone can put anything on there, so I wouldn't get my hopes up about this until a rep from 2K, HBO, or VC confirms it.

I also think that if this is true, that they can still put together a pretty good roster. There are still a lot of good past and present boxers that are not in the FN games, though most of the huge names like Tyson, Ali, and Pacquiao are, one of the biggest names in the sport today, Floyd Mayweather, is not. If 2K can somehow snag Floyd, that would be HUGE! Plus there are past fighters like Larry Holmes, Ken Norton, Rocky Marciano, Earnie Shavers, Jack Dempsey, Aaron Pryor, Alexis Arguello, Salvador Sanchez, and others that would still make a darn good roster for a new game. Not the superstar roster of EA, but a good quality roster nonetheless. And if the gameplay and presentation is on point, the roster really wouldn't be all that important to some people anyway.

Yo, good point you bought up about a potential 2K roster Sampson. If this is true then 2K would be stupid not to go after Floyd. Getting Floyd alone would put them ahead of EA imo because it's something that EA couldn't do, plus if they could get fighters like Norton, Tua, Holmes, Shavers, Marciano, Jack Johnson, Arguello, Pryor, Bowe, Camacho Sr, Mike McCallum, Donald Curry, JM Marquez, Edwin Rosario, Ray Mercer, and a lot of other good past/present fighters then i sure as hell would buy it. Just because it may not have the superstars doesn't mean it can't be a solid roster.


I emailed the folks at 2K/VC and HBO and got no response yet. I REALLY hope this is true but with wikipedia you never know.
