It seems I'm randomly promoted and demoted to squad leader. Is there a pattern?

I don't know how the leader mechanics work either. I didn't even know they existed. I'd like to know too.

one would believe it to be whomever has the highest rank is the leader. i tend to believe its whomever has the most points.

I've wondered the same thing.

There's no way that it's the highest rank. The leader is who starts the squad. After that it's next on the list in order.

Other than that I don't have anything else for ya.

cant be. i have joined squads and been made leader.

Perhaps it's possible that you were promoted to leader? Not sure if this can happen. I was pretty sure I understood the mechanics...not like DICE talks about it so we could know for sure...

That's what I thought. Sometimes, I do have trouble assigning attack/defend orders so I thought there was a possibility of a squad leader or just a cooldown.

This I know isn't true. There are times that I CAN issue orders and times that I can not. This would be due to not being the leader sometimes and being the leader others.

No, it's just the game is epically broken

Some times I can assign objectives several matches in a row, then someone else gets it, and later I can again. It seems mostly random but I'm pretty sure only one person in the squad is leader. Someone was able to figure it out because on one round a squad member addressed me specifically and asked me to set the objective.

nope, still wrong.

I've been trying to figure this issue out myself. Last night during a round, me and 3 other friends were in a squad. During the first set of m-coms, I couldn't issue attack or defend orders, but someone else could, then during the 2nd set they couldn't do it, but I could. We hadn't switched squads or nothing... just seems like another bug in the game.
