I just Had to say something about the Drifting in this Game. It would be nice if you could actually steer the Cars Yourself but I guess the Morons at EA werent smart enough to think of that
Your trying to go straight and the Next thing you know the car is turning for no reason other then the Programers decided that they Know better on how to drive a car then You do, Which By the way is Nonsense because I Highly Doubt the Moron have ever even been in a Car Let alone driven One
Oh and trying to turn the car well You cant the game wont let you Im really sorry that EA is a Company Full of Brain Dead Morons that dont have a clue either that or they Have Monkeys doing the Programing either way Im Just Glad I didnt waste My Money Buying the Game because it isnt worth a dollar Let alone the 50 dollars they are Asking for it.
and A Word of Advice to EA You better start making games that are Playable or you will be Loosing a very big amount of money then again you Probably wont because im sure there are Plenty of Morons out there willing to waste their Money on Bottom of the barrel games Like the Ones EA is Putting out

D'yu want a hug or something?

If you had bothered to read Ea's latest statement, you would see that they recognize theyve made a mistake, and so will be correcting it for the next nfs.

And tbh i don't think many people will miss you.

Just out of curiosity: how did you come up with all these statements and
accusations without owning the game?

Like i said, just curious.

Must be a reference to Carbon, where the game countersteers for the player. Although it's called drifting, it's more of a type of racing where the car is kept in constant oversteer. Maximum points are gained due to speed and not hitting anything to cause the multiplier to be reset. It wasn't really drifting, but it was challenging and fun, example videos:

Supra "drift" at Kings Park:
ncdkpsup.wmv

Viper "drift" at Billings District:
ncdbdvpr1.wmv

Prostreet has more realistic drifting, and the player has to countersteer the car.

drift is gay. I thought we were gonna have some drift races not go at 10 mph around corners.

You never mentioned if this was Carbon or ProStreet that you were complaing about. Carbon countersteers for you, but ProStreet doesn't.

i think he's talking about ps because on the tokyo dockyard the drift car rx7 i was driving was going straight and it but on its brakes by its self and turned into the turn.

I never experienced this, maybe in casual mode?

@ JimBridges:

You're almost definitely in Casual mode, IF you even HAVE the game. Since you obviously don't, as you SAID you don't, you don't have any right to complain. Or, alternatively, if you own the game but didn't pay for it, have fun cleaning that up...

However, if you ARE talking about Carbon, yes, the drifting is unrealistic and Carbon's drifting, in my opinion, was the worst version of Drift mode ever made. And in that case, I see how you are saying that you could have tried it without buying it - through the demo, which had one circuit race, one drift race, and one canyon race.

No longer checking NFS World forums as regularly as I would like, due to not having as much free time.

To contact me, PM me on NFSCars, NFSUnlimited, or TDUCentral. (RedCarDriver on all three sites)

If you think of Carbon's drift mode as a type of racing as opposed to drifting, then it was a lot of fun. The basic challenge is to maintain high speed while negotiating relatively tight spots because of the car being sideways. Although the car was counter-steered for you, the throttle control was important.

In ProStreet, one flaw in the drifting is that the handbrake (or regular brake in version 1.1) build up drift points much better than it should in real life, because the car slides like it's on ice when using the brakes, but grips much better when using the throttle and steering. I demonstated this in my "minimalist" 240SX drift car at Ebisu A:

npea240sx.wmv

Might as well post another Carbon Drift video, this time Fortuna Heights in the Viper (note that one of the police cruisers is much faster, but this may require the "all cars" enabled via a trainer to get the fast version). The fast police cruiser scores are 10 million +, while Viper scores are 7 million +.

A forum site was having an informal Carbon drift contest. So I had spent some time with these when making those videos. We didn't do any canyon drifts, so I don't have any 15+ million points runs at Gold Valley Run. You can find a few of these at you tube (search for gold valley run), like this one by Tifo, who's turned canyon driting into a career (I prefer hearing the car to the music though):

youtube 16+ million point run

The reason for the Supra video is that one of the "contests" had to use Japanese cars, and the Supra (being rear wheel drive) was better than the normally faster Evo (being all wheel drive) for drift events.
