1st off let me ask can just anyone pick up NFL2K and beat a top level player? What about in Madden? The Show? How about Fifa? No on all accounts. As bad as madden is if some idiot picked the game up and did stupid stuff like just throwing up lobs in covg they will never win.
Now lets shift over to fight night. While boxing and skill will more than likely beat the most terrible fighter in this game, when I say terrible Im not talking about the run of the mill spamming idiot I mean the 33 -157 bum who has no business playing, there will be a bunch on instances where these idiots win fights they have no business winning because they spam power punches with no immediate penalty. From a realistic perspective these are the 1st people knocked out in real life, but not in this game. All you need to know to win is 1 button block, power punch modifier and hook.
Tonight I have had a bad streak of that happening over and over. You can spot these terrible players from the opening bell, they move unorthodox like the are randomly wiggling the stick while blocking, they cant put together a combo when you are in a stun moment there is simply nothing graceful about how they move. All they know is power punch modifier, block and hook.
I just lost about 4 fights to these kinds with them sitting in the middle of the ring and spamming power punches. All it takes is one of those punches to land and its over. There will be a lot of top tier fighters getting their rank sapped while bum hunting because of this type.
If EA doesnt put something in place to severely punish these bums/idiots then it will be ugly. They will run to the most over powered fighter and throw power punches until one of them connects. Smart boxing will get killed by this idiot much more than it should.
It takes 0 skill to win in this game. Im not even talking boxing skill. You dont know have to know any exploits, know how to box, counter nothing. Even the top level cheesers are very good at exploiting something. These dudes are complete idiots when it comes to doing anything other than wiggling and throwing haymakers.

I guess you are lucky. To put the problem into perspective and not to brag, I am very good at these boxing games. I was ranked in the top 5-20 pretty much the entire time I was playing round 4. I was top 50 in round 3. I did this without exploits, spamming etc.. just pure boxing so ypu arent hearing this from the run of the mill top ranked exploiter or marginal barely .500 player.
Its gonna happen more often than it should unless EA does something. You can be as disciplined as possible, evade 100 of the haymakers but you will be caught by a few and when it happens you will be pissed that the 1st 100 they threw did not make them dead tired with 0 punching power.

Look here, Im not gonna go back and forth with your ignorant *. You have a PS3. If you think you nice and think I need to practice my PSN is FundamentalBoxer. Now you can keep running your mouth like you know me or get in the ring and get embarrassed. Im not entertaining your BS. Save that tough guy * for the kids.

Keep at it kids. While Im here complaining about abvious flaws that you spamming bums have no problem with Ill also being the top 25 of the leaderboards when the game drops.
http://www.easports.com/leaderboards/ranked/fighting-fightnight-10?platform=PS3
FN 4 leaderboards right there. Im 92 despite playing the game no more than 3 times the past 6 months. I was 17 when I stopped. Winning will never be an issue, its the obvious flaws in the game that allows the bums like yourself win when you have 0 business being in the ring.

Bs
I was ranked in the top 5-20 pretty much the entire time I was playing round 4.
Means you were probably really good at catching people punches with the perfect block making them freeze
and or doing all the other lame * that was in fight night round 4 .. The number one guy on xbox live the guy that dominated everyone master the perfect block, stun, straight technique.
I was top 50 in round 3
Means you were great at karate chopping your way out of punches with that faggy lame * parry they had in the game.
If you don't like fight night champion don't buy it. Go play fight night round 4, go have fun and live in la la land with all the cheap * that goes in that game ... Spinners,Hyperpunchers, runners,(pressure fighters who seem like they stick to you and whip punches at you and the only thing you can do is "perfect block") ... FU** fight night round 4
This game is soo much better then fight night round 4 and to be honest while fight night champion does have it fair share of cheap * * in the game it will never match the level of cheapness that fight night round 4 had .

He has a good point and I said this would ba an issue beofre it even came out.
The best player in the game can lose the worst by way of a 1 punch KO.
It doesnt have to be the way as described in this thread, it doesn't have to be a power punch, it doesnt even have to be a counter punch. It can simply be a standard hook to the head and in some cases even the body during a trade.
The 1 punch KO is not the issue, it is the complete utter randomness in which it happens. It is designed to be pot luck like a lottery, it can strike at anytime... I've seen quite a few already and this is just in a 3 round demo.
Imagine 10 rounds... not looking like such a great idea anymore.
If it was a last card that you could play to get you out of trouble and steel the win but it required some form of skill and you would have to work for it, it would be a different story.
At the end of the day even the top players are gonna get a bit bored of going into every fight and playing it like a chess match for 10 rounds fight after fight... it leads to long boring fights but even with that there is no certainty that you won't get 1pKO'd. It can happen with the 1st punch thrown.
in this game any top player or competitive player looking to climb the leaderboards could end up getting 1pKO'd twice in his first 5 fights of the the evening to useless players that have no business ever getting such a win. Imagine the points dropped from this... will kind of make you really not want to play anymore.
The problem with competitve play, is that you would expect the results and records to reflect your skill level. When you start taking losses to any fighter that you have outclassed from start to finish be it a top player or a bum, especially when you land 10 times more counters and flush shots than him but you still lose cos of a lucky 1pKO your skill level gets distorted and is no longer true.

Wow at these clowns. I must have touched some nerves. I posted my PSN ID. Up to you to see me in the ring or keep making assumptions. Im about the most realistic boxer you will find and will still whip you unmercifully. Dont assume because someone is a top ranked player that they are a cheap player/exploiter. I hate them with a passion. As for the top player on XBox, I know what he did. I won a trip to vegas playing that POS round 4 and seen his * in the flesh.
PSN = FundamentalBoxer...add me. After I whip you I wont ask for an apology.

Well even the best fighters in real lose sometimes so thats why ea is doing it like this, im sure they will tone it down alot though by release after all the feedback they are getting. The demo is just a test for as much feedback as possible. The greats roy jones jr, mike tyson, lennox lewis, hearns, foreman, liston, pacquiao, hatton all loss from 1 punch knockouts. So this is exactly why EA is giving us 1 punch knockouts. Like i said, the demo is just a test, im sure they will make the necessary tweaks so it wont happen as much as it is now.

I've had around 100 fights offline and online and I've only been 1PKO'd twice and experienced a dozen flash knockdowns.
Must be the way you play dude, sounds like you might be a punch spammer...

Yes , In real boxing not everyone get 3 to 4 chances to get up
Shi* happens in boxing ! I guess i have been lucky by not getting caught with the
one punch ko`s because I rarely use the heavy punch modifier . The time that i did get caught with
that one punch ko was when a i threw a heavy punch and the player saw it coming back moved back and
countered with a great punch to my chin and boom game over ...
This is great for the game because it always in the back of people minds that
with one great punch the game could be over just like that ... It makes alot of people
play smarter !
