Rating Suggestions

Increases
1. Rick Nash: 89 overall increased to 90 overall
Nash has put up points consistently playing on a less than stellar Offense in Columbus. He is IMO underrated every year, largely because he has a small Support group and isn’t in a big hockey market. Comparing him to Zetterberg who has similar stats since 2008 and is a 90. Nash is on pace for roughly 70 points which he has been around since the 2007-2008 season. He is on pace for 37 Goals, 34 assists 71 points which is 4 points better than his last year.

Ea should take these attributes into consideration:
Speed 91, Endurance 91, Puck Control 91, Agility 91, Strength 90, Balance 95, Dekeing 93, Hand eye 91
This would leave him at a 90, seeing as he is much quicker than he seems to be, and as a big man this may not be reflected as much in game. Being a big man he is incredibly hard to knock off the puck providing great strength and balance doing so leaving many highlight-reel goals a year.

2. RJ Umberger: 83 overall increased to 84
Umberger, who is currently playing second line wing with Kristian Huselius Antoine Vermette, is the Highest Plus/Minus forward on the team, and second in all the team to only Rostislav Klesla, with a +7. Umberger has played a great role as a shut down forward, and was a key part when with the flyers in their playoff run in, 2008. RJ is on pace to set Career highs in Goals ( 28 ) Points ( 62 ), which is comparable to Mike Richards( 88 ), and Phill Kessel ( 84 ), in recent years. Although he is does not have the same offensive flare as the previously mentioned players, nor is he as good defensively as Richards is, he is a better Defensive player than Phill kessel, while still putting up respectable points.

Ea should take these attributes into consideration:
Passing 87, Strength 86, Endurance 86, Offensive/Defensive awareness 86, Durability 86.

Umberger has played in 80+ games in 3 of his 5 seasons, with his lowest being 73 in 2005-2006 with the Flyers. He is a stronger defensive player who has in recent in 3 of his last 4 seasons put up more assists than goals, showing he can make a good offensive zone pass.

Honorable Mentions
*these players may or may not deserve a boost, they are just IMO not as important as the 2 players mentioned above*
Antoine Vermette 83-84- Underrated since he was a Senator. Puts up decent numbers, and good 2 ways.
Mathieu Garon 80-83 Has very similar stats to Steve Mason, and has the same stats throughout his Career, he and mason are more of a 1A 1B rather than Starter/Backup.

Decreases

Nikita Filatov 82 overall decrease to 79
Although he was one of my Favorite young Players on the Jackets, Filatov has not been able to produce at an NHL level yet. In the last 2 Seasons he has been placed in the AHL, only to be moved back to Russia, and This season he has only played 23 games in the NHL, the rest are with Springfield. He has 44 Games played and only 13 points, and he is not a two way player in any way shape or form. He has great speed and hands, but isn’t able to convert them into points, and is a liability on defense.

All in all I do believe that most of the Jackets players are rated fairly and accurately based on not just their hot and cold streaks, but how they have played consistently, over the years.

Hi..Jd here in England. Just trawling through all the teams, trying to get an accurate feel on just which players are which.

Can i ask you guys a few questions about some of your players (and please, I would be delighted if you think anyone is rated wrongly (high or low) that would effect my season.

Upgraded some of the youngtsers in the line up considerablty, but really would like to know more about them (Clintsome, Clavert)
What about the goaltending? Is Mason still the man?...any pointers regarding any re editing of the attributes I should be making?

Any info would be greatly appreciatted!

I'd like to help give the 2011-2012 roster a nice push in the right direction so that we can use some realistic lines with the first update after the season begins, and because the guy doing our roster last year was a joke.

Forwards
Line 1: 22 Vinny Prospal - 7 Jeff Carter - 61 Rick Nash "C"
Line 2: 18 RJ Umberger "A" - 50 Antoine Vermette "A" - 13 Cam Atkinson
Line 3: 11 Matt Calvert - 26 Samuel Pahlsson - 15 Derek Dorsett
Line 4: 16 Derick Brassard - 19 Ryan Johansen - 8 Maksim Mayorov

Defensemen
Line 1: 51 Fedor Tyutin - 2 Radek Martinek
Line 2: 3 Marc Methot - 14 Grant Clitsome
Line 3: 10 Kris Russell - 58 David Savard

Goaltenders
Starter: 1 Steve Mason
Backup: 30 Curtis Sanford

Scratches: 24 Derek MacKenzie, 5 Aaron Johnson
Injuries: 20 Kristian Husleius, 31 Mark Dekanich
Suspended: 21 James Wisniewski (8 games)

Power Play Units
1st Unit: 22-7-61-51-58
2nd Unit: 18-50-13-10-14

Notes: Johansen, Atkinson, Savard and Tomas Kubalik all need to be AT LEAST in the mid-70's. Although they are rookies, they are competing at an NHL level and their rating should reflect that. Last year using Matt Calvert as a 68 was ridiculous when he hit the NHL roster. All number changes are current as of 10/3/11.

Atkinson isn't even in the game in the Be a GM mode. He signed last spring and played several games in Springfield. Hopefully we can get an update soon. I'm looking forward to the season in real life this year.

Atkinson probably never got the chance to sign the agreement for his likeness to be used. By appearing in tomorrows game he'll be immediately elgible to appear in nhl 12

How soon will there be a roster update now that the season has started and final rosters are set?
