Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the roster discussion for the Vancouver Canucks. My name is James and I'm the Team Captain. The NHL team and I are looking for input on line changes, equipment changes, ratings suggestions, etc. The NHL team will be looking over the thread alongside their scouting team and possibly adjusting these based on the community's input. They're not going to make changes that they don't agree with, so please don't use this thread a forum to slag them if your opinion doesn't match theirs or if they don't implement the changes immediately. Also, this is a discussion thread so please be civilized and respectful of the opinions of others, flaming and trolling are not welcome.

Me thinks EA went a little over board with Kesler upping. I know he has 32 goals and 54 points, but he doesn't deserve a 95 rating in offensive awareness and passing....IMO

Your new here so let me break it down for you, the NHL series in created in EA's Vancouver studio and most people there are Canuck fans so Canuck players are always overrated. Homerism.

I agree ... He should be mid-80s in those categories if the Sedins are low-to-mid-90s. Right now, he's rated higher collectively than both Sedins in those categories and I don't think you'll find anyone who'll say Kesler is a better passer or better at finding seams than the Sedins. He does need a bump in hand-eye, though, as 80 is definitely too low for a guy who has half of his goals on deflections/tip-ins. He could also use a bump in discipline, as well.
Category: Current Rating > Suggested Rating
Hand-Eye: 80 > 85
Offensive Awareness: 95 > 85
Passing: 95 > 85
Discipline: 67 > 77
Overall: 90 > 88

Kessler definitely deserved a bumb he is having a great year, but to a 90. Funny thing is in the PODcast the devs say they don't give huge boosts to players having a good year because it might be a fluke. Then even name Kessler saying they want to give him a huge boost but can't, then they give Kessler the biggest boost of all.

I agree, 90 overall seems a bit high for Kesler.
He is having a monster year, but I don't think he should be rated higher than an 88.
But sometimes people focus on the overalls too much, and not the individual attributes that make up the overall. I'm going to check them out soon.

passing I agree its too high... but offensive awareness not so much.. dude the guy is being considered for the hart trophy. I feel like the 80's for passing is accurate and the offensive awareness is on point because offensive awareness is a main rating to have a player " drive to the net " for screens and deflections

According the the Attribute threads posted by the devs/mods, that's not what Offensive Awareness does, though.

Off. Awareness
-Field of view is for making passes, passes to players outside field of view are slowed (see Passing)
-Affects CPU player decision making when passing
Kesler clearly shouldn't be a 95 in that category if Daniel is a 91 and Henrik is a 93 ...

I agree with the comments about Corey Schneider.
He should be at least a 79-80,easily.
The game will be treating/making him like a sieve with ratings like that,.....
That`s why I imposed "the system" for goalie attribute edits.
