Alright, I've attended roughly 5 of the last 7 home games here in Dallas to try and get a better feel of what to put down for roster lines, but what I've come to realize is that the Dallas Stars don't really have a "set line" of players outside of their star line that plays together the majority of the time.

Thus, it's very difficult to put anything down "concrete" after Line 1 and PPK 1.

Lines

LW- Brenden Morrow C - Mike Ribeiro RW - Adam Burish
LW- Loui Eriksson - C - Jamie Benn RW - Tomas Vincour
LW- Krys Barch - C - Steve Ott RW - Jamie Langenbrunner
LW- Toby Petersen C - Tom Wandell RW - Jason Williams

LD- Alex Goligoski RD - Stephane Robidas
LD- Jeff Woywitka RD - Trevor Daley
LD- Karlis Skrastins RD - Mark Fistric

G - Kari Lehtonen
G - Andrew Raycroft

PP1
LW- Brenden Morrow C - Mike Ribeiro RW - Loui Eriksson
LD- Stephane Robidas RD - Alex Goligoski

PP2

LW- Jamie Benn - C - Steve Ott RW - Jamie Langenbrunner
LD- Alex Goligoski RD - Trevor Daley

PK1
C - Steve Ott RW - Tomas Vincour
LD- Stephane Robidas - Trevor Daley

PK2

C - Loui Eriksson RW - Brendan Morrow
LD- Mark Fistric RD - Karlis Skrastins

Injuries
Brad Richards

1. Sorry -- I C&P'd from another post to get the line-up part down and forgot to fill that one in (it was like 1 AM... Marchand plays for another team, lol).

2. 1st defensive line last night against the Hawks was Daley and Robidas... On Wednesday, Woywitka and Daley started the game as 1st Line. Out of all of the games I've gone to this year, I think I've only seen the same starting lineup once or twice.

3. You can only have 6 defensemen in NHL '11 on the depth chart. It's not like EA Sports provides you with a 7th alt spot. Sure, I could include Skrastins in a PP/PK spot and I'll make that change in the OP today.

4. You're 100% correct, my bad. Like I said, it was like 1 AM when I did this and I had just gotten back from the game last night. Thanks for the correction.

5. I'll make the Sutherby/Wandell switched based on your call.

It's almost/close to what mine looks like (I've jotted mine down based on Canucks/Coyotes/Blackhawks games over the last week or so).

Vincour actually started on line 1 in his first NHL game against Phoenix this past Wednesday.

What I've come to realize from watching the Stars live and on TV is that the coaching staff likes to mix these guys around depending on match-ups rather than having a "set" line the majority of the time.

It's kind of hard to set lines right now. We're missing Benn and Burish two extremely key forwards on the Stars.

You are missing Aaron Gagnon and Tom Wandell by the way. The team added Jason Williams yesterday, he started this afternoon with Wandell and Southerby

By the way, Wathier was sent back down. Niskanen has been scratched the past 3 games. You can add Grossman to the injured list (he left around the 7 minute mark of the first). With Grossman being out you can probably count on the Stars calling up Larsen from Austin.

Also, http://www.defendingbigd.com/ is by far the best Stars site around.

By the way I was sitting in section 121 row O on Friday when we played Turco and the Hawks.

Wandell is already on the list, Mike -- he's on the 3rd Line. I'll make some quick changes to reflect what you saw today Thanks

My girlfriend and I usually sit 209/A or Suite 1142/A (we sat here for the Hawks game).

I must have over-looked it, Dave-- because Ott plays center.

hey I wanna make a suggestion if Kesler is a 90 on Vancouver

Richards 87 should be cracked up he is way better then kesler

Richards is a guy who for the past how many years has been rated in the top 5 -10 players in points

Also considering Riberio is still in the top 30 players for stats his rating should be left alone

Actually, Ott plays the wing on a good percentage of lines when he's out on the ice. He's even announced at the start of games as a Left Winger when he plays on the 1st Line of the night.

The main times Ott lines up at center is usually when they're a man down, when someone has been forced out of the face-off, or on just really random occasions.

Ott has taken the third most draws on the team (Ribs and Richards have more).

695 taken 404 won 291 lost 58.1%

More injury news though, and it's a killer one. Brad Richards was not on the flight to Canada today. He experienced an unannounced injury during the last shift of the game (I think it was the reason for him yelling at the ref with 30 seconds left and an empty net). This absolutely sucks for the Stars right now.

I don't know what the Stars are going to now as far as lines go. I'd imagine that they would keep

Morrow Ribs Vincour

Neal Ott? Erickson

Gagnon/Williams Wandell Langenbrunner

Whoever gets called up or healthy Sutherby Williams

I really like the way Vincour has played with the Ribs line. Hopefully he can make a big impact while Richards/Benn/Burish/Petersen are injured.

February has been brutal for the Stars (aside from the nice win on Friday over the Hawks). Let's hope that they can overcome this roadblock and hold on to a playoff position.

Ott has actually become one of the more dependable face off guys for the Stars so that rating for sure should go up.. He does have off nights where he might be a bit below .500, but most times he's winning 65 to 75% of his draws taken.

Ribs on the other hand should maybe have his face off rating dropped...

I disagree with Kari having his ratings dropped.. Granted he hasn't made the 'big save' when needed like he had been, but you can look to games that he had against Vancouver and chalk that up to very poor defense.

Matt Niskanen needs to be at about a 76 or 77... He's not any better than the likes of Jeff Woywitka at this point.
