You can't look up-down and/or left-right:

- You've accidentally bound something to the axes that BF2 uses for looking around.
- Reset your controls to fix this.
- In future, when binding things to your mouse, pay close attention; if you move the mouse at all while binding, it will register & bind that horizontal or vertical movement axes, replacing your look ones.

I tried setting the right buttons to the movements but it does nothing. I set it to default and it still wouldn't work. It somehow always looks up and right. When I press A and S, it would go right and forward instead of left and backward. Can someone help me?

Guys, windows crack is the problem, at least was for me , this is a fix i used:

FIX: found out it's a confliction betwen punkbuster and any Windows removeWAT or cracks. So google 'sfc/scannow'. To try it, go to Start>accessories>CMD (run? as administrator) make sure it says C:/windows/system32 in CMD, then type sfc/scannow and leave it to finish, restart n see how it go

Yes, the updates weigh roughly 1,5 GB (I thnk maybe even 1, and it takes a loong time to get the files. Unless EA servers really pump through your whole DSL connection it's gonna take while. :/

I'm using an Asus computor with an Intel core 2 duo processor. 3.12 GB RAM, Realtek audio and ATI graphics card.

I'm running on xp.

Any ideas?

Many thanks
Unless you googled this already, I suggest you do. By accident, while looking for another thing about BC2, I read up on some conflicts with Realtek thingys... because of onboard sound and then some driver problem or something. :/ Hope you'll get this fixed.

NO, many people have already tested multiple sound cards for this game. Including disabling sound COMPLETELY. Need proof? Here:

In regards to this problem
http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/4020/380660.page

There is a simple fix for it I found on Youtube

Controlpanel -> HardwareSound -> Sound -> Disable your corresponding ATI/Nvidia sound card.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxFB9...el_video_title

I hope this is truly the answer for everyone's problems, I believe it is we all have ATI/Nvidia GPU's
seeing as most cards I believe ranging from my 3870 to the newest cards all render audio on board.
And everyone with this problem is not using a discrete audio processing unit. There is an interference
in game in between your ATI/Nvidia sound and your on board Realtek HD audio.

I will further test this out, but so far so good
I hope we can pass this information around the Bad Company 2 section for the rest of our mates
with this problems to hopefully correct it and enjoy some game play without having to worry about
a sudden crash of your system

I wish I could post in the original topic but it is locked

Just a theory, but my squad noticed that about 99 % of our in game crashes and between round crashes are only on servers that have a queue for waiting players.it could be kicking those for stronger connection or better pings that are in the queue . Not necessarily on purpose, but a glitch on the server side. And it almost never happens in the Vietnam servers. just a thought.

Serious issues with the chronic-freeze/lock.

OK, it's apparent that this BC2 game has some kind of major glitch/error with it. Many many many people have posted in this forum here ==>http://www.fragtheplanet.com/832/battlefield-bad-company-2-pc-crashfreeze/#comment-15086 that BC2 is freezing for them. Many of them have it when they buy the game, but many more have it long after playing consistently. The fact that this forum thread goes all the way up to today is indicative of how game-ending this bug is. One person in it claims he had a 100-member clan, 80% of whom are in a chronic-crash state as of recently.

It is the responsibility of DICE to inform the players of what is going on. It's chronic silence is de-legitimizing it as a developer. The "tweaks / help / "fixes"" thread is not enough. There needs to be an address made in-game. DICE is currently telling me in-game that BC3 comes out in October. DICE should be informing the gamers about the state of this major-game-issue.

Is there a fix found? Is there a fix being tested? Any projected release dates for patches related to this major-game-issue? If not, just admit it so we can uninstall this recently-defunct game. Its a shame because BC2 was great until the chronic-crashes.

Question: I play online through Steam, and every time I leave and come back, my stats are resetting. Any reason why/how to fix this?
