Good game!
Only thing is that I cannot see any replays... For some reason on my xbox only, replays dont play and there is no instant replay feature on the pause menu...... Does anyone else have this problem???????

Very enjoyable. Legacy is greatly improved with amateur mode, on-line seems to be generally competitive and fun.
Graphics are great, cutaway scenes are really well done. Even the soundtrack seems to have a good mixture and balance this year, not all rap & hip-hop.

Criticisms -
Buying XP points to max. your boxer out in OWC mode. Groundbreaking territory in greed.
Guys also loading stats up on OWC for their favorite punch and being able to throw hundreds of power bombs with no obvious signs of depletion on stamina.
Too high a reliance on made up fighters from Champion story mode for online, especially an overpowered Isaac Frost
Poor CAB feature - Black smudges, mud face, little improvement on attire and hairstyles. EA could have tried a bit harder on CAB mode after all the community feedback

I've only played about 14% of Champion mode so far as it's not why I buy a boxing game, so I can't really comment on that

Really fun game overall are my initial impressions

Let me briefly tell you about my first fight

It was me Sugar Shane Vs Fernando Vargas...

We fought in Mexico.. On champion difficulty.. I'll tell you this much i never felt that much stress in the ring.. My hands was hurtin and ish.. lol Early in the first round i got hit with what i thought was a 1banger.. I was like oh know .. Please no.. But i survived.. then a couple rounds later i got knocked down again.. And i fought on I was swelling Vargas up pretty bad my best hope was to bust him to the white meat.. That didnt happen He caught me reaching and put my * to bed.. I cant remember the round

So with revenge on my mind i quickly started a rubber match and it was a tough one again.. this Joker Vargas is a bull..He put me on my butt twice.. two times! But i was smart and boxed and didnt reach.. he threw an insane amount of power shots I worked my jab straight and hook like i normally do.. I have him swelling up again.. and as the final sticks tap we try to make fireworks. Bell tolls, I cover my eyes so i dont see the ref tip of the decision.. but i failed.. he touched me first.. and.. it was a draw i boxed to a draw after fighting 10 grueling rounds.. suffering two knocks down.. and swelling vargas up.. That was a great moral victory.. i didnt win the fight but i was victorious i fought .. i survived like a Fight Night Champion

As far as gameplay goes, this game is phenomenal. Perhaps the greatest boxing game ever made. I've been duking it out since Ring King on the arcade, so that's a huge statement. Fight Night Round 4 was great, but the improvements made with this outing have once again revolutionized the genre.

My only beef with Champion, and it's a significant one, is the ability to purchase XP and Boosts that apply to Online World Championship. That is a horrible decision. I mean, I'm sure it's great from a business standpoint, because it forces people to give EA money if they want to survive, but it's a penalty for any truly competitive gamer.

If you're looking for the greatest fighters in that mode, which that seems to be the point, selling XP and Boosts eliminates that possibility. The champs in OWC will never be the best, they'll be the best of those willing to shell out cash. It's like an asterisk on a home run record.

So like I said, I love your game. It's an unbelievable experience. It's too bad that the cornerstone "Best of The Best" mode will never be what it could be, due to the developer's greed.

As For My Online World Championship, Stats Are Deceiving And Matches Are Rarely Even. Maybe It Will Get Better When I Get Paid And Can Buy My Experience Point Like Most Other People On My Level. They Put It All On Right Hook So I Get One Hit Knockouts. A Little Annoying, A Overall 78 Has The Middleweight Belt And Is Ducking Anyone Good. The Game Is A Great Step Up From Round 4. I Just Wish Stamina Had More Effect.

I love the game.

But there are a few gripes.

I HATE STICKY FEET-- I Am fighting on the inside then, when I want to move back out its like Im glued there for a good second before I can move back.

Perfect Block is just horrible as usual-- when fighting taller AI computers with a shorter fighter, I like to jab my way in to the outside, But most of the time I get countered off my Jab through perfect block. (yes in essence perfect block does happen in real life if slightly.)

I just wish they would add a parry system, but one that doesnt make your boxer freeze up.

Boxing is all about timing and split second counters , and parries are what usually set them up besides the usual defense of head movement and etc.

When you see a boxer get parried in real life, he doesn't freeze up for a whole second or two.

SO there needs to be a parry system but one that is not unrealistic! That would be hard to do though.

I wish they would bring back the 4 quadrant Blocking or at least the 2 Quadrant blocking as well, so its no simple and blocking doesn't mostly rely on the fighters stats.

The stamina and amount of punches thrown could be fixed, I end fights in 3 rounds and the opponent and I have both thrown 200+ punches.... thats insane.

Other than that the power of the punches feel good, and theres more strategy than ever, I simply love fighting Pernell Whitaker. The graphics are great, and yea I'm staying away from online mode cause I dont wanna play with glitchy exploitative jack offs lol. Ill just stick to playing with my friends.

TLDR;

Take Out Perfect Block/ Get Rid Of Sticky Feet when on the inside/ bring back 2 or 4 quadrant blocking/ Screw Online mode/ Other than that everything else has improved like the feel of the punches and the look of the game.

O yea add more damn fighters, its annoying that theres only 3 featherweights..... they couldve added the fighters in the game to each weight class they have fought at instead of making matches with one bigger fighter vs a smaller one.

I have the same problem. The reason is we don't have harddrive. It definitely spoiled the impression about the game. I hope that a patch will be made for those who don't have the hdd.

The game is great! The controls and movement seem better than the demo. The only thing about the game I have a problem with is the lack of info on setting up custom tracks on PS3 and how and where XP points are used vs people that don't have them. I don't see how I use my 25,000 points but I maxed out my cab. Can XP be used on licensed boxers? I read that you get XP when you win matches but which matches OWC, ranked. champion? I seen it takes about 20 for each stat then there's the next page with the cuts and swelling.

I just think people are going to need more understanding on those features. The playlist for custom tracks I made a playlist name of the song I added. Is this the correct way? Do I have to make a separate playlist for every song I add? There's also the playlist where the game songs are unchecked to play your playlist. More info on these things would be helpful and be much appreciated. I'm very content with the game and I'm happier than I thought I would be with it. The punch controls was my main concern and they seem to be more accurate than the demo. We also need a video on those new training exercises.

I like the how POWER is completely removed as an overall rating and has been made a far more varying attribute.

The Strength rating is pretty cool IMO.

Treat it as it were a sort of 'Strength-to-Weight Ratio' Rating.
The rating is kinda relevant to each fighters own weight division and thus gives an indication of how strong they are at that weight before it gives off an indication of how strong the fighter is in general.

It's sophisticated in a way because it only transpires into Power when combined with Speed and the relevant Punching Skill... Which are in turn governed by your fighters Conditioning & Endurance.

No offense to the member, but Developers of Fight Night Please DO NOT BRING BACK ANYTHING REMOTELY LIKE THE PARRY SYSTEM! I cannot stress that any more. That is NOT actual boxing. Boxers do not get parriedin real life. Counter punching is exactly that. You are countering a punch throw, taking advantage of your opponent's opening. It's not a martial-arts style block. It's not even blocking that makes the opening, it's your opponent, for you are COUNTERING him.
Moreover, I have found with the "Perfect Block" in FNC is exactly what the developers intended. It's not perfect at all and about as efficient as blocking has been in the previous games. Punches get through, just as if this was real boxing. Nothing's perfect.
