I know you can change the color of the wheels, but can you change the color of the trucks? I know I wanted to in the Tony Hawk's but since Tony can kiss it they don't put it in there. I'd really like to be able to pick actually truck models from the companies, but whatever it would let us do. What about the Bearings also? Reds being red and what not. How does that work?

but with bearings, i dont know and really dont care. you'll barely be able to see them anyways.

some of the customization you're requesting is completely pointless though. we'd never be able to see the bearings, why choose a color for them and use up that much more memory when it could be used in something else, reguardless of how little memory that'd require. i don't even care about colored trucks. there are just so many other things that'd be a better use of such resources.

Use that much memory? Bearings are so small, so thats hardly any memory, anyways. It's not completely pointless, it is pretty pointless, but look at the detail put into the environment, if you are going to have people have there names scraped into spots, then why not let you change bearings, if you are having a camera set up for something into a manual and you are fairly close to the wheels when coming out, everybody has black bearings, I skate Reds, and they are always red, cheapest and the best for the price, but still I remember when I saw the project 8 trailer and saw slow mode and the wheels were spinning and they were all skating reds is what it looked like. I have no idea where I'm going with this but with all the extra stuff in here you would think bearings would have passed through there minds, and not just kept passing.

notice on the second link posted, that jerry hsu's wheels are on the opposite way. i love switching ym wheels around i think its just a cool little detail put in the game.

as far as truck customization goes, who cares? jerry is riding his pro model royals in that backside nose grind and rattray is riding his pro model thunders...most skaters can recognize this. its not customization issue with these two they are riding their own trucks. and as for bearing colors...you would have to be insane to care about them at all.

Yeah i agree with the bearing thing. Whilst I'm a customization freak, that's overkill. Plus the pro model trucks are great, more realistic than just generic blank trucks.

If EA is aiming to create the most realistic skateboarding game, they most certainly should include all of these custom board ideas. I normally am not the type to ask for a million tiny sliders and editing options, but I'd like to see this editor fleshed out completely. When I skated, I'd change my trucks around...tighten wheels, trucks, swap and rotate wheels, cut my own designs into grip tape...I want to see these kind of options. I'd absolutely love to be able to etch my tattoo design into my grip tape.

Great ideas in here, but some of that stuff about etching stuff into the grip tape most likely won't make it in.

I think in a game like THP8, deck and character customization were needed, but visual and technical deck customization wasn't totally neccesary.

However, with Skate making the move to put your movies online, it'd be nice to make our characters unique, right down to the board. Seeing individual skaters with individual board setups is going to be fantastic compared to playing THP8 online and seeing the same ten skaters every ten minutes.

Hola skaters,

So here's the deal on customization:

You: full-on create a character. Sculpt face, choose skin tones, body size and build, hair, facial hair etc...
Your gear: it's all real stuff. We have over 48 brands in the game and the models are the real deal. Hats, Shirts, Jackets, Shoes, etc... it's all real stuff.
Your skate: again all real stuff... e.g. 13 deck companies with tons of models, same goes for decks, trucks, and wheels.

So the color of your trucks? Depends on what you pick. Choose a red model of Royals and they'll be... red.

Sorry no bearings, bushings, bolts or grip tape this time around. You gotta draw the line somewhere to get the game done.

You will be able to loosen/tighten your trucks and choose wheel softness. The results in the game are the real deal. Try bombing a hill with super loose trucks. Good luck with that

Whatever the case, you can almost guarantee individuality as there are literally billions of combinations possible through customization.

It's all about you.

Dude i agree with the bearings and bushings, but all having the same grip tape?
It's just i read this on IGN.com a while back and assumed it would be in:

"Forget about custom grips and different wheel colors (which, of course, are in the game too), skate goes far deeper."

Ah well, guess theres some leniency due to the way it was worded. God knows it wont prevent me from buying what's going to be an amazing game.
