Hello,
We appreciate all the dxdiags that have been posted, but in order to diagnose problems at a more rapid pace please provide the information requested below when experiencing a crash. Please provide a detailed description of what happened, send your save files, dxdiag, crash files and device log to SimsMedievalBugReports@ea.com. Instructions on how to locate these files are below. In order for us to process as information quickly please send dxdiags, save files, crash files and device logs as attachments. The previously mentioned email address is only for reporting issues, save files, dxdiags, crash files and device logs. We will not reply to any emails sent to this address. We will continue to monitor the forums and do our best to answer any questions you may have.
GENERATING DX DIAG
1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
STEPS TO LOCATE CRASH LOGS AND DEVICE FILES
1) From the Start Menu select documents
2) Open the Electronic Arts Folder
3) Open the Sims Medieval folder
The crash logs consist of two files: a text file(.txt) and a mdmp file. The name of these files will include your computer name, the date, time of crash and look like:
Xcpt EAQA-DINS540 11-03-23 18.14.24.mdmp
Xcpt EAQA-DINS540 11-03-23 18.14.24.txt
The device file is in this folder and named: DeviceConfig.log.
SAVE FILES:
1) Access Documents from the Start Menu
2) The folder will be in Electronic Arts>The Sims Medieval>Saves
3) You should zip up the save folder that this occurs on. The name of the folder will be the kingdom name.
Please send the dxdiag, crash files, save files and device log to SimsMedievalBugReports@ea.com

Have sent the DxDiag, the DeviceConfig log, and the Save Game.
Question, though. I do not have the crashed game files, even though my game has indeed crashed over 15 times. Could they be in another location? Or is this because my computer crashed as well, rather than just crashing the game?

This could possibly due to a driver issue. Does your screen go blue when crashing? If so it probably is a driver issue.

My drivers are up to date. And everyone else is experiencing this issue.
I was very, very angry about all of this until I was assured by a customer service rep that you were patching this and not blaming everyone's very different drivers, very different computers and very different operating systems.
If you are going to continue to blame my up to date driver and up to date system which EXCEEDS the requirements, I am going to go back to demanding my money back and boycotting EA. Understand?
My driver runs EVERYTHING ELSE.
I was able to play the game up until adding a Cathedral. Which was for over 10 hours. Explain how THAT is my driver and not your game?

By my previous response I didn't mean that your drivers weren't up to date. I meant something is causing the driver to crash.

All right. Is there a way I can assist with logs for the up to date drivers crashing? I am unsure why I have no logs.

If there are no crash logs in your folder I believe we have all your relevant system information. We're in the process of resolving the issue and hope to have a patch soon. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I don't have any issues, I just wanted to say that I find it great that the developers are really seem to care about the problems people are having. An email where you can send your stuff too ? Wow.
The thing that frustrates me the most over that TS3 forum is not that it has that many bugs but that there is NO feedback from the gurus whatsoever.
I do understand everyones frustration but it does feel that someone actually cares here.
Thank you!

I have no crash files either. I am crashing with a blue screen at times but other times with a black screen. I've sent in my info.
Thank you & hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Hi just wondering quickly, if my kingdom is corrupted (it comes up with 'A serious error has occurred while loading 'Kingdom.tsv'. It is strongly recommended that you restart the application' ) Will this new patch be able to fix this, or do I have to start all over again? I really hope not, as I had placed all the buildings and only had a couple of quests left to do! Please say you can help save my kingdom!!

Does this occur when you're loading a save?

Yes it does, was playing on it for about 4 hours until it started to crash, and it kept crashing (just black screen not blue screen) every 20 mins after. When I went to load it the next day it came up with that error. Have started a new kingdom since but really would like to save that one if I can. Thank you.

In reference to above "restart application". You place 3 building with hero and 2 other buildings without hero the screen goes black and the "restart application" error message shows. Once you attempt to add a 4th builing with a hero it all goes down. You can delete that "kingdom" and start over and the same thing occurs whenever attempnting to place a 4th building with a hero. One can continue to play all the quests but ever get additional heros or black screen and window shuts down.
We have a new computer with all windows and graphics updated etc....updated. There is no issue there.
If you would like to see really what every one here is discussing...suggestion....go by the game...load onto a computer purchased at a retail store. (with none of your additional upgrades) and see for yourself. My kids are frutstrated beyond belief. It appears as if no one really understands what all these comments are and why they are occurring. Maybe you need to play the game as the people do instead of trying to figure it all out on the upgraded technology you have.
I agree that this is a simple concept. But if your computers cannot get the same situation then maybe you need to come down to our level and try playing the game.

Key kmc - I posted this in another thread but your issue looks like one that EA is aware of and is looking to fix with an upcoming patch. Here is a temp solution/explanation of the issue.
"The problem has been isolated to getting your security aspect above level 7.
This means each time you place a building with security - you are one step closer to crashing IF you have the same graphics card - usually an intel integrated chip.
This should hopefully be resolved soon with EA's next patch - but for now here is my suggestion.
Try to avoid placing specific buildings:
Knight - 4
Blacksmith - 3
Spy - 2
Lighthouse - 2
Mill - 1
Jacoban Priest - 1
Kingball Court - 1
All the other buildings have 0.
So if you keep your total at 6 or below you will be fine until the next patch."
Hope that helps you!
